Anyone have any official attendance numbers from the tournament ... can’t be good.

8,100 for men from Saturday forward. That’s three sessions. Last year was 23,000 for all 5 sessions.

I will remember this year’s Saturday Men’s session. The attendance numbers were nowhere to be found in either the game stories or the boxscores. I’m talking about the TU. The only number I found on the web was 2630.

Let's be generous and say Friday's session was 3,000. That's still under 15,000 for the men's tourney. According to last year that would be 23rd out of 32, and 5 of the conferences below them had less sessions.

Where is next year's MAAC tournament?

Where is next year's MAAC tournament? One more in Albany and then they’re bidding for 2020 and beyond. Another mark on JP - Siena has hosted the tournament every year but his first. Zero championships.

Once again the MAAC tournament had pathetic attendance, which has the powers that be scratching their heads wondering what went wrong. It's time this league stop pretending it's a big time league with a tournament at one site. The MAAC consists of small schools with generally small fan bases, thereby limiting tournament attendance. If Siena does well and the tournament is in Albany the attendance is OK but most of the league hates playing a tournament at Siena's home court, and when the tournament travels elsewhere the attendance tanks. It's time the MAAC adopt a tournament format like America East. Reward the regular season performance with tournament home games, which could well boost attendance. To me it's embarrassing to watch a championship game with a largely empty house and little crowd noise, such as we had this week.

I think instead of doing that they should hold it in Glens falls. It would make a fortune there.

the MAAC will go where ever the guarantee money is the most, plain & simple...........it appears that in this next group of negotiations, that the TUC did not bid as high as other venues (likely going on the basis of their past success and comfort level from the league)............
