Maker fired. Why is Marist such a hard place to win?

Maker fired. Why is Marist such a hard place to win? Matt Brady won there. Had a few good years over decades but overall the men’s basketball program appears to be an after though which is ashame. Nice campus, facilities, great academics and proximity to the City and yet they struggle. Really contributes to dragging the MAAC down.

JP would be a good fit at Marist....would make them competitive. Bad fit at Siena could be solid with the Foxes.

And then Welch, Timberlake, and co.. go there, they succeed, and they end up better than us. Marist beating you in the standings is how you know when your life is over. That would be some crazy god hates us crap.

Marist had very good years when I was there (Rik Smits era) and some pretty good years in early to mid 90's (early in Magarity era). First time I ever saw Marc Brown is when he led Siena into McCann as a freshman and completely outplayed Marist's senior point guard (Drafton Davis) who went on to star in The Super with Joe Pesci.
Brady was solid but never wanted to be there. Chuck Martin was a bigger train wreck than Mitch. Maker may have been even worse than Martin.

One of my best Siena memories is 6'6" Monte Henderson blocking the first two shots attempts by 7'4" Smits in a game at the ARC

Just realized, Marist sent this release out while the womens team was getting ready to take on Q in women's final. Interesting timing.

Smits was really, really good as was Miro, their 6'11" power foward. And on the bench the had another 7 footer, Rudy Bougarel, whose son is starring for the Utah Jazz now. The point guard, Davis, was pretty good but the 2 and 3 were no where up to the talent they had in the front court.

You have no idea about these things yet you state them as fact. These are your opinions. They may even be right ones but you really don't know.

He and Rik were also seen in Coming to America playing St Johns at the Garden.
