If no one is leaving, adding Bentley shows me that JP and the staff are changing their recruiting philosophy. It seemed in the past that despite what the rest of the MAAC was doing, he wanted to play with 2 bigs and a true small forward. It seems like now JP has realized that the MAAC is going to 3 guards (sometimes even 4) with 1 big and a stretch four. In the last 2 classes, the emphasis has been on getting guards who can handle and shoot the ball, along with the ability to play multiple positions. The future of the program rests on these young guards being able to stand toe-to-toe with Iona and Monmouth's guards over the next few seasons. Hoping for the best and excited about the future.

We're running. If no one is leaving, there's no doubt now.
It only took 7 years for a Siena coach to understand you need athletic ballhandling guard depth to play uptempo. Better late than never.

8 guards now who can all create at least for themselves off the bounce.

I don't mind it.
The kid looks like he plays smart and he's a crafty driver with some hops. He looks like more of a combo guard but if he can shoot, he's one more chance for a good scoring guard.
We'll see. I'd like to have more info on him but may not be too bad.

Still dont have a big that can run the floor and block shots. Nope. And I question how ready Oduro will be. Don't think he has a jumper or can make a FT. But you ain't likely finding a quality big now. So maybe strengthening your ability to play small and uptempo isn't a bad thing. I just hope the kid can shoot it.

Waiting for someone on here to say they analyzed the video and found that Christian is a half inch taller than Evan Hymes.

You dont need a real quality kid for that role. Im talking rebounding and defense. Not worried about getting 15ppg from him, just 8 reb and 2 or more blocks. When Prince was here for his official, the kids played at the TUC. He must have made 10 straight jumpers during the 2 games I watched, and JO was covering him. Maybe he got lucky that day, but that part of his game I'm not worried about. I worry about teams pounding it inside, but lets face it there's not a lot of quality scoring bigs in our league this year anyways. I get worried bringing in 3 freshman guards (Bentley, Penn and Horn) that all seem to do the same thing. Be surprised if all 3 make it to their sophomore year here once the dust (playing time) settles.

I think it's clear that at least one of the guys you are considering a point guard won't be playing PG. The way this roster is assembled, we are going to run and go small. Shivers will play the 4 at times and we can have 2 smaller guards next to Nico.
