WTF are you talking about. You're praying for a bad season next year. I've been around Siena hoop since the 70's seen all D1 coaches and players, some good some not so good. It's part of being a small D1 program. If some around here realized that it would make this board more friendly. Siena had a good 3year run, they aren't Gonzaga or Xavier, they're Siena or just another maac school. If they want to invest $800k or more into a coach, then you could bitch and complain and demand championships. Total BS and you know it...I want Siena to turn it around next year. I'm just don't know how realistic it is. Forget Gonzaga or Xavier - how about being Iona or Vermont? We've got just as many NCAA wins since 2010 as Iona and Vermont.

Iona (4), UVM (2) and UA (3) all have gone a lot in the last 7 years but outside of UA NCAA PIG no wins. Siena has preformed pretty well in the postseason compared to other mid-majors and I'm not counting Xavier, Butler and Gonzaga as mids anymore.

Any given year, a few months after the tourney the average fan is going to remember about 5% of the mid to low majors that lost their first game, 25%-50% of those who won their first round game, and most of the teams that made the Sweet 16. Getting to the dance is nice for program exposure but you don't make a name for yourself until you start winning games. And once you make that sweet 16 you have everyone talking about you for an extra week and that exposure really explodes.

It's less a week and I've already forgot about those teams. Middle Tennessee st. Does anyone know what conference they are in and who their coach is and where they are located, without looking it up?.

I constantly confused it with East Tennessee State, who was also in the tournament. And do know the conference but not coach/location. Probably more Central Tennessee than Eastern Tennessee though

A theory could be that Jimmy already has commitments but they cannot announce until ships open up. I could see that wit the big kid from Canada. The danger is someone could swoop in with an offer to good to refuse, especially if the right coach lands at the right school. Those in charge know what's going on and how it works. I trust a guy who has been in the coaching business as to his recruiting style compared to the peanut gallery of this board and how they evaluate players and who you give scholarships to. Oh boy did you lose so much credibility with that last sentence. Have you forgotten the 'favors' (wink wink) and the over recruiting of the 'recruitment mistakes' that were in many cases painstakingly shown the door? Have you forgotten an overall record of .500 and ONE, yes, that is correct ONE MAAC Championship in more than a decade??? Or how about the revolving staff door? The suspensions and dismissals? Further, let's not even get into 'those in charge know what is going on and how it works' so as to not get into another pissing match about the administration and hire in the first place.

East Tennessee State University, ETSU, is in the eastern most part of the state in Johnson City, TN - one of the three cities that make of the Tri-Cities (JC, Kingsport and Bristol - home of the Bristol 500). Some of you may remember ETSU's stellar point guard, Keith Mr. Jennings who played at the same time as our Marc Brown - they were competitors for the same senior year award whose name escapes me - KMJ won it I believe. I was fortunate enough to see KMJ play live many, many times and saw so many similarities with our Marc Brown - who, IMO, should have won the award. Good memories!

On a plane to Vietnam. Really! It's prime recruiting season. It's like a CPA taking off 3 weeks before April 15 No big deal, he won’t be gone long. Final 4 weekend next week, no way Jinny misses the parties Friday and Saturday night. Championship game Monday April 3rd, he’ll be back in Albany Tuesday the 4th gives him a good 10 days before early signing period to see if any kids fall thru the cracks, maybe some impact players out there with no offers. Don’t worry about it, doesn’t the guy deserve a vacation?

I am sure he will land two 3 star kids who decommit when their coaches are fired

Good memories! nice reference.......the award is The Frances Pomeroy Naismith Award intended to honor shorter-than-average players who excelled on the court despite their size.[1] The award, named in honor of James Naismith's daughter-in-law, was established for men in 1969 and for women in 1984. The men's award was presented to the nation's most outstanding senior who is 6 ft 0 in (1.83 m) or shorter, while the women's award was presented to the top senior who is 5 ft 8 in (1.73 m) or shorter. Early in the women's award's history, the cut-off height was 5 ft 6 in (1.68 m). The men's award was selected by a panel from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Jennings won in 1991........... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frances_Pomeroy_Naismith_AwardAND in 2004, the Bob Cousy award was established to honor the top collegiate Point Guard of the season...............Ronald Moore was nominated for that award in 2010 but it went to Vasquez of Maryland............ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Cousy_Award

Considering the 12 hour time difference (5AM here is 5PM there), it is likely that for the first time in his career he can honestly say he is "ahead" of his peers for a period of a week or more!
