They really looked good especially in the 2nd half. Aside from the Kansas game, they haven't played with that much energy. They were active on D and hustled on offense. It was nice to watch.
Quinnipiac isn't a good team though. They need to do that against a team with a winning record.

QU .410 MAAC / .360 Overall Need to be able to beat the MU's and Iona's else it's just another so so year.

Have to focus on the positives.
A number of players played great in different ways, including all four of our seniors.
One thing I really loved was seeing the competitive nature of Sammy Friday. He gets stuffed going for the dunk, and instead of complaining, on the very next possession when he was given the ball in the low post with only one guy to beat, with some nice foot work, was determined to beat his guy...which he did. The ensuing technical didn't help the cause but loved to see the competitive spirit he showed.
If the kid loses some of the lower frame weight without losing much of his upper frame bulk, it will help his vertical.
If he can do this, I think he can definately develop into a low post scoring threat who also has the touch to make foul shots. That being said, the most positive thing I took out of last night's game for this year moving forward was how Jimmy coached down the stretch.
With a lead with less than 8 minutes left, he kept attacking. For one of the few times in his career here at Siena, he,did not take the,air out of the ball with a,second half lead with under 10 to play.
If he continues to coach this way, it will build trust and confidence showing his players and his, four 1000 point seniors that he wants them to extend leads and play to win when ahead in the last ten minutes and not play to lose by passing up opportunities to shoot open shots,or go to,the hoop if it's there to do, even if it's early in the shot clock.
If your reading this Jimmy, I urge you to please continue coaching this way.
PS - Don't lay another egg this Saturday. Coach like its your last breath from the get go.
Just because they don't like it, it worked so get these guys back in the film room again this week for another 3 hours. Show them the debacle in Buffalo againot Canisus for a few hours so they don't jump out to a huge lead again.
Go Saints!

Sorry for all the typos in my previous posts. Typing quick on the phone without taking the time to edit and autocorrect not always being correct equates to many errors, including when I always seem to hit the damn comma key by accident. Will do better moving forward.

Have to focus on the positives. Some out here will NEVER focus on that. Just the way it is.

Have to focus on the positives. Some out here will NEVER focus on that. Just the way it is. Beating mid to lower pack MAAC teams is meaningless if you go 1 and 5 or 2 and 4 vs the top of the conference. Not negative, just an observation and a fact!

OI - so true. I want to see Siena win against the better teams. This just isn't the year.

Not negative, just an observation and a fact! We're 1-2 vs the top of the conference. Not 1-5, or 2-4. We just beat a team, on the road, that beat Iona and Canisius in their last 2 home games. Stop bitching about what "might" happen. Deal with with what happened yesterday. Team played very well, and guys like you are negative? So if it isn't a game vs your top teams why even play? I guarantee you if we lost, you'd never let go of this game. THAT'S the problem, and I know you wont get it.

Not sure if thats what OI was referring to but just throwing it out there.

Have to focus on the positives. Some out here will NEVER focus on that. Just the way it is. Some love mediocrity. Some don't. I go to a pub and the atmosphere, food are shit. I'm not going to focus on the positives (they have my favorite beer). I'm not coming back

Sucks that we're 10-13 for a season with such high expectations but give credit where credit is due at 4-11 this season looked completely lost and who knows how it will end up but going 6-2 with three road wins is something positive. Hopefully the team can continue to play well - win the rest of the home games (means beating Monmouth) and win at Marist and Siena will finish the regular season with a winning record and a 13-7 conference record. Anything can happen in March too.

OI - so true. I want to see Siena win against the better teams. This just isn't the year. Let's keep it real but still be positive. The kids played with great energy last night. I'm seeing great team spirit right now and a few people are starting to really pick up their game. We're the underdog against the top three but we're not out of it yet. By the way, I had a great time at the game last night on the bus trip. Frank had a great group cheering our boys on to victory last night. A lot of fun!! Loud too!
