Schedule sets up pretty nicely for the next 5 games. I would be pleasantly surprised if Siena could win 4 of them. Three is about what I expect. Two or less and we continue on the downward spiral and are unlikely to ever come out of it until Jimmy is gone. I'm pleasantly surprised! Let's keep it going. Unfortunately the next 6 are not so easy. 3-3 would be pretty good, if they can do better than that then we might just have something here. Yup 6 wins have come against teams with an approx combined.450 win pct both in MAAC and Overall play. A few tougher teams coming up IC CC MU. In addition JP has to avoid the usual head scratcher type loss to a bottom feeder or two. There's still hope. I'd like to see the seniors finish out strong.

I just don't think the glass can be half full when you see the recruiting that has taken place and the fact that the program is under 500 and has had major discipline issues from the start of the year.
Half full to me would mean a winning record, no major program issues and at least 2 players that could have an immediate impact coming in with this class.
Currently the program has gone from dumpster fire to half empty, until Jimmy can start delivering results instead of providing me with word salad it will stay that way to me.

Half, just half, always half, .500 in other words. But nowhere near as half-assed as in times past....

I'll be rooting for 4-1 or better. Bump! 4-1 or better wins!!!! Man, I love this game! i call another 3-2 or better for next 5. Don't want to get too greedy. Ok, we're 1-1 so far for the next 5 (after Manhattan). 4-1 still possible but will take 3-2. Lets go Saints!!!

7-5 is above half and past half of the season. Let the whiners and complainers go off after every loss. A rare road win must have been luck. ?

Agree, we have a ways to go to get the winning program back to on the rise/half full; but the comparison of this team "since this post started" has to make people feel this season (compared to the teams results as of 1/5/17) should be on the rise/half full.
Siena was 4-11 on 1/5/17, clearly on the decline especially considering preseason expectations. Siena's 6-2 since 1/5. While I realize this may still not be great, it's materially better than continuing one the 4-11 route.
That's all I've been trying to say when I'm looking for people's opinions - not from preseason or prior years expectations rather simply since 1/5/17. It's clearly on the rise since then.

The seniors, especially Lavon have stepped up intensity, thus results are better. The program is clearly not in the rise. Let's get through the season and see who is left in town when the dust cloud clears.

Sorry, I must not have been clear in prior post. I was trying to show the team is on the rise/half full comparing the games this season to 1/5/17 (when this tread was created) to the games/record since (6-2). I consider that on the rise from 1/5/17.
I think I also attempted to explain that I understand the program may not be in the rise, just trying to show something positive since 1/5/17.
the first post on the thread didn't actually refer to the program or the year so its left for interpretation by the posters. Therefore, my statement is factually correct. Siena is on the rise this season since 1/5/17. But there's more BBall to be played and can go in either direction.

They for sure will not lay another egg this Saturday at home against Canisus.
Can count that win right now.
They will for sure beat Marist next week at Marist. Count that win as well. That makes them 9-5.
I don't think Iona is as good as last year''s team.
I don't know if we will beat them on their home court next Tuesday or not.
One thing for sure. I definately do not think, if only for pride purposes from our seniors, that they will not get blown out like they did at home.
Either way, it will be a close game. You can count on that as well. This game may well come down to making those foul shots.
If they do win, going into the last 5 games of the regular season, with 4 of them at home, and getting swept by no one in the league to date, they will be 10-5, and still in a good spot to possibly even win the league title with not having played Monmouth yet?
All of a sudden the Monmouth game a week from this Saturday at home could be another huge, huge game.
I do not know if they can beat Monmouth or not but I dont think Monmouth is as good as last years team either.
If they get a second chance at another big home game like that where they would definately still be in the hunt for the league title, I think they will come up big with their biggest home win of this season.
It all comes down to Tuesday's game at Iona on whether they will be 9-6 going into the last 5 or 10-5 going into the last 5.
If they are 10-5, I think these seniors will be very much ready to make a run at the title.
The glass is definately still half full; more than half full!
Go Saints!

I like our chances vs Canisius, but agree it’s nowhere and I mean nowhere near a guarantee. Next week against Iona- we have to hope Iona has a poor shooting game while we have a good shooting day. Iona’s guards are much, much better than ours- probable loss. And at Marist- while I like our chances @ Marist, we often lose there even when we are good. Jimmy is 1-2 at Marist as head coach at Siena. In addition we still have 2 games with Monmouth, both probable losses. So I will say the Canisius game and Marist are probably key games for a top 3 or 4 MAAC finish

@marksingelais Canisius' Reggie Witherspoon on Siena: "They seem to be a little bit more connected, in terms of the way they're approaching the game."
