Brian Fruscio....just can't figure out why he would want to do this to himself. I agree - especially if this was a directed move. No question he's an excellent coach but the unknown is how well will he be accepted, integrated, and "allowed" to work his strengths for the team. Other than Greg, we don't have a case where the JP assistants are viewed as parts of a cohesive 4 coach team. The life expectancy of a Siena assistant is shorter than a 2nd Lt. on the battlefield.

Could this be a signal that we just might have a chance at this being our first local Power Conference School type of talent staying home to play in front of family? To be that kid to start the domino effect that gets Siena back on the national map and a few MAAC Championships along the way.
Hope so.

Wait! Is this about Hameir Wright? Maybe other recruits from AA down the road, but I can't believe that he is a possibility.

Brian Fruscio....just can't figure out why he would want to do this to himself. I won't go there, but isn't it odd he would come here when we were supposedly on the outs with many local connections. Not that we had a shot, but did we even get to talk to his star at AA? Do the City Rocks pull more weight with these kids than their HS coaches? Once a kid gets a scholarship offer from Syracuse, it's pretty much over for us. And YES, the AAU guys have much more pull on a players recruitment than his HS coach. Maybe not in every case, but I'd say 9 out of 10. Fruscio is all speculation, but he'd be a great assistant for our program.

Well, me thinks it's more than speculation. Brian is a great person, and a darn good coach. Just can't curious why he would go this route (again).

the last time he linked himself to the Siena program, the coaching staff flamed out.............as of right now, this coaching staff is heading exactly in that same direction........so the timing for Fruscio is not exactly the best if you know what I mean....................

No chance he does it unless he gets a 2 year guarantee this time.....chalk it up to "lesson learned"

Well, me thinks it's more than speculation. Brian is a great person, and a darn good coach. Just can't curious why he would go this route (again). The Challenge. Not every HS coach wants to die at that level. He gets 2 years, who knows what happens? Look at Brown at UA. He went from Community College coach, to 4th assistant, then Head Coach at a D-1 school.....all in ONE YEAR. No better place to do it. Wont have to displace his kids. They can continue to live in the area. The 2 years on the college circuit could lead to something at another school if it doesnt work out here. He just peaked out a the HS level with another Federation State Championship, and his star player is leaving. Timing makes perfect sense, and we could certainly use the help.

How can they guarantee him 2 years with the HC contract ending after next season?

How can they guarantee him 2 years with the HC contract ending after next season? well, in April of 2016, he got extended 2 more yrs..............so this is what is being reported............ Siena Basketball Head Coach Jimmy Patsos has received a two-year contract extension from the College, lengthening the current deal through the 2020-21 season. All other elements of the contract remain the same.
