The trend continues - Jimmy Patsos coached Siena teams always start off the year slowly.....
2016-2017 first nine games.... 3-6 2015-2016 first nine games.....5-4 2014-2015 first nine games.....3-6 2013-2014 first nine games.....2-7

Last year had Duke/Wisconsin but still was above .500.... 14-15 season we all know how that one finished. Still time but we're 3-6 and outside of Kansas haven't played any impossible games. We should be at least 5-4 right now if not 6-3. Again I'm not giving up on the season - Iona was 4-6 last year but Jimmy has put himself in a position for basically no margin for error. I just don't know if he or the team are good enough to go on a 14-4 type of run.

They will roll in the maac. Last night was an awful shooting night and they could've won. When they put it together they will win games by 20+. 15-5.

I had us at 22-9, 15-5...throw out the 22-9. From what seen so far I see a 12-8, 13-7 team at best in the MAAC. But because we play well at home usually if we finish in the top 5 we will have a chance to win three home games in early March (i.e. like in 2002). The season is so much more than that though with a senior laden team it doesn't look like we're going to get the "special" year we had all hoped for. It wasn't just last night - blowing the 19 point lead to FF on Saturday night was bad. Yes we came back and won but it also played into last night's game. If we would've cruised home maybe the legs are a little fresher last night and we win. The MAAC has a lot of quick turnarounds and numbers don't lie Jimmy struggles in those situations.

Quick turn around is BS. These guys have been playing basketball everyday for years. The problem is they're soft. That's the type of player you get today. Soft. Not all of these guys fit that mold but some are softer than others and can't take the heat. Therefore the chemistry issue. Maybe they figure it out. They have to figure it out on their own.

Hard to win when you can't put the ball in the basket. Second half stats from rider:
11-32 from 2 pt 0-11 from 3 pt 3-9 from the line

Change a single aspect of the game and you potentially change everything about the game so your claim about " absolute fact" is as off the mark as Siena FT and 3pt shooting.

Very philosophical, but perhaps over thinking it. If you shoots 5% from three you are not winning on the road or even at home. Fact.

Players need to take ownership of their play. Take as much pride in good free throw shooting as in a long three or a spectacular dunk. This board in large part is putting it all on the Coach. What is also offensive to me is the suggestion that taking players on a road trip to historical or cultural sites is a waste of time that could be spent on practice. Basketball is not all that these kids are in college for. If that's what you want go follow Louisville or Kentucky etc.

IF these kids made 40% of their shots, we would never question those side trips.

The coach chooses the players,no? I don't get why some of you continually put down 18-22 year old kids on here, it is not a good look for the program.

I'm hearing people say that if individuals had shot a little better fans wouldn't be pissed off about losses because the team would have won more. You're not saying that's putting down players are you? Explain please.
