Yes I think Nico was scheduled to sit and ice down after so many min- he looked very good. Friday is big boy and Huerter does a lot of little things-- Shivers is very athletic and can really run floor. Having said that because of the 4 seniors other than Khalil I dont see any other freshmen playing much ( barring injuries) and that's no knock on freshmen- more a statement of players ahead of them
WB offense looked fantastic-- he still gets lost at times on defense-- but in fairness to Willem he was guarding two 1st team ALL MAAC players. Entire team --was about as expected, and agree with Bigfan Khalil is very athletic and quick. Once Kadeem comes back our guard rotation of Quis, Nico, Kadeem and Khalil won't take a back seat to any guard rotation in MAAC athletically

No EF or Kadeem-- both looked healthy-- we know Kadeem wasn't suppose to come back until Nov1-- not sure why EF did not play- EF is noticeably slimmer

So basically not much unexpected. Most playing as advertised.
Just hope Nico and Kadeem get fully healthy.

Having seen Richard play now, I am much less worried by the loss of KW. And I haven't even seen Smithen play.
I am no longer worried about PG depth. Or depth at any position, for that matter. Just really want Nico to be OK.
I really think this team has greater depth than any of Fran's teams. Just not quite the starting 5 caliber of those teams.

Didn't get a chance to make it out but I'm really liking our chances to have a big season and win the MAAC championship!!
Would not worry too much about Nico they are wisely bringing him along slowly. Long season ahead no need to rush it.
Looking forward to seeing Richard and Smithen in action - giving Marquis a blow will even make him a better player closing out games.

Agree with Tony's assessment of the freshmen and their opportunities for PT. Having seen a few practices as well, I am very impressed Essex with Khalil, especially since he did not play all of last season.
Quis appears to have fully recovered from last season's injury. I think Third Team All-MAAC is under rating him significantly.
Evan looks more fit than last year and Sammy has to have dropped 15 pounds since practice started.
Really looking forward to the season!

Maybe this team is finally ready to give birth to the season we've all been waiting for.

I figured. Still on schedule for the 3rd? Kadeem on schedule to start running next week. Another observation from today.......Lavon, who has been playing absolutely great in practice, was very quiet in the first twenty minutes, played much better and more aggressively in the second segment, leading the green team to a comfortable win over the gold (Marquis, Brett, Willem, Ashante, Sammy, Thomas, though in the second segment guys were moving from one team to another). After the first segment, Jordan Watson (who was coaching the green team) mildly chided Lavon, saying "You've been our player all pre-season. Where's that guy today. Play like you've been playing." And he did. Played much better. Don't have any idea how this season will play out, but I can't believe there is another team in the league that's as deep and talented as the Saints. These guys are really good. Brett, Javion, Nico, Lavon and Marquis have got to be the best starting five in the MAAC. And to support Tony's point, if Marquis is healthy all year, there is no way he ends up on the third team All-MAAC. His numbers may not end up as good as Robinson's, because Marquis doesn't have to carry as much of the scoring load as Robinson, and he probably won't have to handle the ball as much as Robinson, but considering the all-around game that Marquis has, he is a definite first-team all-league candidate.

Wright was playing like a 1st team all MAAC player last year before going down..have to expect the same performance this season. Hope he stays healthy the kid deserves a big year!

Marquis is playing at another level- game looks very easy for him right now. And I should have added Lavon looked very good—only so much you can tell by inter squad scrimmage. But I saw nothing but positives. We look talented deep and experienced. This is easily the best Siena team since the Fran years. I am more convinced than ever if we get turnover problem under control this team is going to be very difficult to beat in MAAC
