Imagine being a new coach, coming to a new program, and browsing this forum?? Dudes, pounding their chests because they're "Saints Alive" members, and ripping into innocent victims because of a deep hatred of the head coach. Embarrassing.....

Where Siena sits in Div I programs it is perfectly situated for coaching opportunities in the food chain ... As Siena progresses upwards so will the calibre of applicants ... I'm sure Abe considers it advancement of his bball career Rereading this I sounded negative ... Trying to say Siena is considered an advancement opportunity ... And if Abe does well he will move up the food chain and his replacement will be a higher calibre coach ... You build a successful program w both players and coaches

I ask because I truly don't know how it works at Siena. Is there a "pecking order" for the assistant coaches (1st ass't, 2nd ass't, 3rd ass't) and are the responsibilities the same for each of them? When Mitch was Fran's 1st assistant he wasn't really a "recruiter" coach, wasn't he the "x's and o's guy"? So for those with perfect knowledge of the situation, was the new coach hired specifically to be a recruiter or could the coach have a different role in mind such as assuming some or all of the duties of one of the remaining assistants freeing them up to be "recruiter coaches". Any insight from the cognoscenti would be appreciated.

Best to Lucious. Yeah it is. The board is taking a hit because of a few people (no names mentioned) just hijack most threads with their agenda. We all want to get back to the NCAA tournament and win the MAAC. Last year was a positive and fun year. I understand there is questions/concerns about things but there is also a lot of good things about the future of the program. I choose to be positive but also realize there is time for legitimate criticism. That differs from just having an agenda. Hey Tony, let's make Sienahoops.com great again!!

Mitch knew talent he just couldn't close deals. The more junior assistants usually help with practice coordination planning rod trips etc. it depends on their strengths obviously and they each get paid differently southern is an AC1,AC2,AC3 etc,

We'll keep the rest PC, even though it's obvious and alive on 99% of the staffs in the country.

While I'm not a Siena fan, I do know Abe from his time at Davidson and he is an incredible guy and will be a terrific addition to your staff, I'm sure. I know from my schools message board (not Davidson) that things can get pretty negative and I had to adamantly defend one of our assistants earlier this summer, but you guys are lucky to have Abe. Having been a manager for a successful D1 program and knowing the inside, the natural progression is DoBO to assistant (I know, many fans don't necessarily like that). Having known how McKillop coaches and teaches, I'm sure Abe will be great for you guys, and I am a little jealous. For all the naysayers, I can be a harsh critic, but you have to at least give the guy some time. And assistants do tend to be a "you can't do anything right" position. Because if you do a great job, it often times falls in the lap of the head coach.
Best of luck to you guys this season!

Let's give the guy a chance LJ had his and underperformed. Let's see what Abe can do, Davidson is obviously a winning program with a great coach and if they saw something in him I'm sure he has the ability to succeed. It's all about how bad you want it .....
