They won, relax. Stop being Saturday evening pg's, we should have an exciting yr. Agreed-- we won.. freshman almost always play better at home- its not like Kenny is playing 30 min a game he is avg 12 min a game- he brings energy, is long, athletic, good defender, very good lateral quickness ( something Oliver cannot supply) I don't always agree with Jimmy, but in this case I do. Kenny Wormley has a nice "upside" and will be a very good player for us next 4 years That's the part of this ongoing argument I don't get. He's playing 12 minutes a game. It would be ridiculous if he wasn't playing. Besides, young players don't develop on the bench.

Decent crowd. Brutal stretch there for about 15 minutes. Nice to get the win. 5600 with the students gone for a noon game? I wonder how UA, or any other MAAC team, would characterize this turnout?

Another gutsy, gritty comeback win. These are good signs, esp for a team with as many guys that did not play last year getting quality minutes. It wasn't pretty, but hopefully, it's these kind of games that get them confidence and cohesiveness going forward. And it looks like Jimmy has had a change of attitude, which I think helps in many ways.

My problem with this game was your upperclassmen had to be bailed out in the first half by at least one freshmen. How do your team captains come out flat for their home opener? They are not good enough to take anyone lightly. The good teams/players play all 40 min. Seen it one two many times thats all.

Hubbard made 4 3's in a row for Loyola (Lester made 2), and got them to a 8 pt halftime lead (we were up 6 at the halfway point). Wright made 4 3s in a row and got us (Nico had 2) tied after 40 min (down 15, with 15 min left). Whats the difference? One team created a lead with unconscious shooting, and the other caught up doing the exact same thing.
The biggest play in the game was Jimmy's "T." It was a PERFECT time to get it, and after he did, we got a GREAT whistle the rest of the way. The guy that gave it to him was the same guy that whistled Brett and 'Quis for their first 2 fouls each at Duke. He's horrible.
We were down 12, with 16 min left, when he got it. The team got fired up, we got a better whistle, AND the kid missed both FT's.

Ryan was disappointing too. Got a huge rebound/putback late, and somehow hit a bankshot 3 from the corner??

They won, relax. Stop being Saturday evening pg's, we should have an exciting yr. The mark of a good team is pulling games out of the fire. That's the difference at the end of the year between 17-14 and 21-10. We kinda did that against Bucknell and we definitely did that today. Now of course we have to play better eventually it will catch up to us. Last year we crumbled like a cheap suit every team we had some adversity. This year through six games at least we are a very mentally tough team. Nobody panicked or pointed fingers. I really think Nico and Kenny have added a lot to the team. Nico is just clutch - hits the shot to send the game into OT. He hustles his ass off on an errand pass and gets fouled. He plays hard and plays great defense. He is going to make a run at MAAC ROY and is going to be a guy who scores close to 2,000 points when his career is over at Siena. You can quote me on that one. Cornell won't be easy (a tough place to play). Different teams but they killed us last year. We should have a chip on our shoulder! Keep winning fellas!! Let's Go Saints!!!!!

Nice to get the comeback win. But needing OT to beat that team doesn't give me much confidence going into maac play.

Nice to get the comeback win. But needing OT to beat that team doesn't give me much confidence going into maac play. Siena dominated the game after the first 3 minutes of the second half. Turned a 15 point deficit into an 8 point win (+23 by my count). Most games are relatively close in D1 outside of the top 50 vs bottom 50 - you should know that Papi. Siena was a 12 point favorite (Sagarin) and won by 8 (after a meaningless Loyola hoop with 10 seconds left). The team is not a finished product - I said 8-4 at Christmas and I'm sticking by that. Nobody peaks in November (well maybe Monmouth is?). This game was similar to the 2008 MAAC semifinal with the Hounds only Josh Duell wasn't playing and Jimmy was on the winning side

No their not, teams at all levels can and do win convincingly .....

Loyola had a chance to win at the end of regulation, Wright played great D. If they drove to the hoop it would have been interesting if they would have called a foul. If you're feeling good about an 8 point ot win over Loyola at home, that's great. I'm just not excited about it.

No their not, teams at all levels can and do win convincingly ..... I agree. We had two double digit wins in Rhode Island. Bucknell is good and it was on the road still Siena was the much better team but almost lost because of turnovers/FTs. Today we were flat in the first half and to Loyola's credit they played really well. In the second half we took over the game. Got a break (Oliver's 3) and won going away in OT. I will stand by that even the great teams (i.e. Siena 2008-2010) won a bunch of tough games. But the key obviously is winning them. I remember the Big 3 having a bunch of games even at home during that 38 game winning streak that they pulled out of the sky. It's what good teams do. But there is plenty to correct. It's only November 28th..I'd say we're chasing Monmouth and Iona but am very confident we're going to be a factor for both the MAAC regular season and postseason championships with continued solid play from our big four juniors, frosh continuing to get more comfortable and solid role player from our two seniors.

So what, sometimes a mediocre team plays over their heads. Patsos recruited some of those kids maybe they felt they had a point to make!
