I am the eternal optimist, but even I think it's hilarious that people are discussing tournament seeding scenarios already. Not trying to be a killjoy. Have at it. I'm just looking forward to the next game. It's been a long time since it was even possible. Just like the rankings begin before the season starts so too do the seeding discussions. Better than the alternative. With the declining attendance Hopefully the staff has the message that we expect 20 win seasons here and to do that a win against the bison would be a good start. Sorry but I'm done lowering expectations--- no excuses. Every game counts.

I believe I predicted this one as an L. Kenpom predicts a loss on the road of 78-74. If the Saints win this one, it means things will be really clicking and we're a bit ahead of schedule. I think this one would be really good for the confidence of everyone and would make a statement the Saints are not going away. Plus, it would put us in a better position should we not be able to beat better teams like UAlbany, Vermont, Bonnies, and Hofstra later. The end of December is going to be a tough stretch. Luckily most of those are at home. I too picked a loss. Here's hoping I'm wrong (at least 9 more times).

RPI is pretty simple 25% - your winning percentage (home win or road loss is calculated by multiplying 0.6 for home loss or road win is calculated by 1.4 - neutral site games by 1.0 50% - your opponents winning percentage 25% - your opponents' opponents winning percentage en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rating_Percentage_Indexkenpom.com/blog/index.php/weblog/entry/rpi_helpBottom line is if we win a good amount of games in the regular season (say 18-20) we will have a decent RPI. Teams like Radford, Bryant (I think they'll do well in their league) UAlbany, Vermont, Duke, Wisconsin, Hofstra and Bucknell will win a lot of games. While the MAAC is not very strong there doesn't appear to be any RPI "killers" in the league.

If we continue to win it won't drop much if at all. How do you figure that, there are many teams with higher sos then us, if they win we go down. I'm no expert for sure, but our wins don't count as much as another schools win with a higher sos If we go 29-2, we'll be ranked in top 25 regardless of the level of opponents. Really don't care what the rpi would be but I doubt it would get worse if we run the tables (even with the route of the teams yet to play). I realize that won't happen but any team that's 29-2 would get ranked somewhere (coaches, AP, RPI, Segarin, etc.).

Garbage in garbage out, these rankings are put out now for revenue generating purposes only to get the fanatics chatting about it. College hoop cannot be predicted form the previous 2 years. I hope Siena wins every game makes the top 25, unlikely one can only dream. that being said haven't been this excited sine the fran years with the product I have seen and listened to.
BTW when is Tom H due back for broadcasting?

olddave I think we will hear less Tom H this year as it is Kevin's senior year at Shen. Besides that I would imagine it will be helpful for Andy to do an increased number of games to transition to the General's permanent sidekick.

I've grown to really appreciate TH and Lee together. They are excellent at calling the game plus are funny/entertaining together. Grazulis may be a nice guy but he is not very good on the radio, imo.

Very interested in this game. Can they build on the two wins and rip of a decent winning streak or do they hover around .500? 17 of the 31 in the pick contest pick a loss.

I think I picked a loss, but only because I had to pick a few. I didn't think we would go undefeated this year. That would be next year. ;-)
