Im from Baltimore can you SIENA fans tell me why you guys look at who offered a kid or what star is by their name? I noticed that Glad to have this kid but not too many years ago Siena was recruiting head to head with the A10 and even some of the lower Big East schools. That is why other solid offers are of interest. If you have been on the board for a while you will have seen that the fans know that "stars" are BS and often the result of how high they are being recruited. Great to have local input from you and Slim Last I checked, George Mason is in the A-10, so it would appear that Siena is still recruiting head to head with that league. A few players on the team had A-10 offers in fact, so relax. This dude is a perfect fit for Siena - a lights out shooter from 3 who scores at will. The only thing that held him back is his height, which is a little short for a combo guard. If he grows another 2 inches during his coming senior year of H.S. before commiting, Siena has much stiffer competition for him.

Who were the solid offers? www.verbalcommits.com/players/khalil-richardGeorge Mason (A10), Cleveland State, Wright State (two good Horizon league programs), Towson (CAA). Not "super high" offers but solid mid-major D1 offers from good leagues. Interest or offered ?

Richards looks to be a pretty solid MAAC recruit. fact he is a combo probably held his offers down a bit, he looks to be about 6 foot tall. He is in DMV top 10 players, Maryland hoops top 13 in state BTW Big SaintG started this this recruiting thread 2 years ago with a story on Khalil ( 1st story in this thread) Our roster is looking better all the time. JP is going to have what looks like a nice roster next year with some nice choices to bring talent off the bench.

Im from Baltimore can you SIENA fans tell me why you guys look at who offered a kid or what star is by their name? I noticed that Most of the time i would guess it is because we would have no other frame of reference for a kids talent. Say Siena offers a 2 star kid with low major offers vs a 3 star kid w/ Mid-major and low major offers..... just by that alone one would guess the 3 star is better then the 2 star, not knowing anything else... and most of the kids are not from this area, so most have NO clue who they are until either offered or rumored to be on Siena's radar. How else would you grade a recruit you don't really know other then by his star ranking, espn ranking and/or his offers? In the end those stars and who offers means nothing once they get on the court, so if what you saying is it doesn't matter in the end, i agree... but for now, since most don't know the player outside of this information, that is how they are looked at and judged.

I hope Nico can play the 3 for long stretches, or we are going to be very thin there once Oliver and then Long graduate.

Similar body to Marc and Doremus , a little more muscle , a hot shooting guard can tip this league in our corner

LMAO the kid is a baller point blank. Dont care who offered him Sienna got a steal. Trust me. He scores at will and did it against the best in AAU. The only problem is he played with smaller guards in a 3 guard offense. The other guard on the team has an offer from George Town. You guys should be happy he commited early. He was on varsity since day one at SAF I tend to agree with this- Siena and Jimmy have been on this kid a long time- Jimmy had one ship and Khalil was his man--

You don't sign marginal talent in September. This is a kid that was clearly a priority for the staff. Welcome aboard.
