This should be a non-issue. He transferred back from whence he came. That has to count for something. I could see if he transferred from BU to BC (for example) but coming back to Siena should be a wash. He played in no games and the transfer was post the school year.

NCAA makes exceptions for the Big Boys, not for mid majors.

According to the 4guysinblazers article on LaRose he's a pretty good baseball player. Maybe Rossi gives him a ship and he walks on for basketball. JO can then pick-up the basketball ship opened. Just thinking outloud.

Just thinking outloud. Might not be a bad idea, except I think Siena tends to dole out partial ships (splitting one ship among multiple players to make them go further). Not sure any one baseball player receives a full ride.

Just thinking outloud. As was said, baseball is not a full ride team, most players are on partial scholarships. I highly doubt rossi would use one full scholarship just to lighten the load for the hoop team. there is animosity between the others sports and the hoop team already. Is it more on JO to make this work vs siena trying to shoe horn him in when there is no $$ available???

If we're talking about Iona they'd get said player eligible from the NCAA. With all JO's been through with the losses of his mother and cousin you'd think the NCAA with show him some heart.

Good news, it appears his uniform number "0" is still available. No one took it, guess they knew he might be back. William has JO's Fr number.

Any player who was recruited for basketball but who receives athletic aid for a different sport (except football) is automatically a counter for the 13-man basketball limit.
