@goodmanespn: BU forward Javion Ogunyemi is expected to transfer back to Siena due to family/personal issues, source told ESPN. Averaged 9 & 5 last year.

Just got A bleacher report message. Welcome back JO, it's as if you never left. Just took a summer vacation & now you're back.

Yeah, but is he eligible to play? My guess would be no seen as he must have been enrolled there so therefore he would still have to sit out a year. But that's just my guess

That's a good question. First things first, I'm happy to see him return. I still stand by my earlier comments, I'm sure Siena will find a way acceptable to ncaa. I'm sure Cam would do right thing for team regarding ship. It'll all work out even if he's not eligible until next season, still glad he's back.

Yeah, but is he eligible to play? My guess would be no seen as he must have been enrolled there so therefore he would still have to sit out a year. But that's just my guess I'm thinking since they're reporting family (and personal) reason(s), he could always apply for a waiver (assuming he's not eligible anyway this yr - which we don't know at this point). It's the ship for this yr that'd need to be figured out.

With a NCAA waiver a possibility how stupid is it looking giving Cam the last ship?
That's why you don't burn them foolishly!
Welcome back JO. .....

On the plus side, it is good Patsos let Javion know the door was always open and he was a valued member of the Siena family.

Welcome back JO!! If he can play this year it adds a big piece back to the team. I think it comes down if he enrolled at BU or not. I'm sure the scholarship thing can be worked out somehow. Don't think he would come back to Siena if it wasn't. Even if he has to sit he's better than any big man we could sign in the fall. Good sources from Hoopjunkie ?

Per Channel 6 news he did register & practice w/team and will apply for waiver in order to at this year.
Then they'll need to decide about the ship (this part not reported but assumed).

Welcome back JO—guess that’s 13th scholarship was important after all- so much for Singelais contention it meant nothing..Lol.. Nice to have JO back whether he plays this year or not ..I will add if he can play this year- greatly increases our chances of contending

Here's some clarifications on the rules with regards to transferring back. www.maachoops.com/2015/08/javion-ogunyemi-to-transfer-back-to.html#moreAccording to an excerpt (below) from the 'NCAA Transfer Guide' (a document published by the NCAA to help student athletes understand the rules and restrictions before they decide to transfer) Ogunyemi should be able to play immediately at Siena IF he has not practiced or played at Boston University. What was he doing at BU all summer?
