I'm excited about Fisher. He comes in with athletic ability and a college ready body, both of which are rare at this level. I would expect about what we got out of WB last season from Fisher. This is the MAAC - stud freshmen big men don't typically land in this league. I don't think even Jason Thompson was a standout as a frosh. But I can see Fisher being a candidate for a sophomore jump. I think we could see one from WB this season with all that naturally gifted athleticism he enjoys. Both Fisher and WB are going to get quality minutes this season with all the fouling this team does. There are a lot of athletically gifted big men in the MAAC. They're just mostly 6-7 and 6-8 instead of 6-10. The key is combining athleticism with skill, toughness, and IQ. Fisher isn't above average athletically for this league...he's just got some feisty interior moves and that fade away post jumper. I hope WB has learned to box out and play smarter. I'm counting on him. He has game changing defensive potential as a disruptor with his natural energy and athleticism. Can't teach that. Correction: most of the athletic big men in this league are listed at 6'7 or 6'8 and are in reality 6'6 tops. Fisher is a legit 6'8-6'9, 250 with athletic ability - and you don't see that in this league often unless they're a juco or transfer. Athletically, he's a bit above what you typically see as a true freshman. Combine that with the swagger and allergies to losing, and I like his potential. We'll see what happens. I'm optimistic WB has gained a lot of experience and it'll be transformative for him.
