A few years ago we went to Minnesota and got $100K plus expenses for one game. Now we are getting $100K (heard it's actually closer to $90K) for four games! Bryant will likely get the equivalent $'s in addition to the revenue from two home games. Pretty sure that Bryant had to give up the $100k to host. At least that was the excuse for Siena not wanting to host. What is going to be absurd is in year 3 of the Albany deal if Albany still pockets the $100k guarantee and Siena has to give it up to host.

History note: Fran's teams played regular season games with the big boys from time to time! And even with the loss..one could argue that it helped the boys feel less " overwhelmed " come tournament time!

So how did you feel about the Disney trips? We played for "free" (which you despise) and we played ALL HIGH MAJORS. Which meant 0-4 was a distinct possibiity. This tourney we could easily go 2-2 with 100K in our pocket. BTW, do you really want Bryant, or the other two crap teams at the TUC next year? ps--you keep avoiding the fact that Fran and the great teams we had played AT Kansas, and AT Memphis. Remind me when those two came to the TUC to pay back our visits. You must be deliberately missing my point. I don't need to use shouty caps to tell you that the Disney trip was a neutral site tournament. It was in one great place and I had a great time there even though we lost. No, I wouldn't want Bryant at the tuc --- again I wouldn't have entered this tournament at all. As I have said multiple times now, an isolated guarantee game is ok-- the Memphis and Kansa games were in separate years. The Kansas game funded the entire teams trip to Italy whereas this event won't even fund patsos trip to Paris. At the time ithe Kansas game was scheduled mccaffery said he wouldn't have scheduled them if he didn't think his team could handle it. Whereas patsos has already marked the losses in red sharpie to make sure we all know about it-- big difference. Now who's deliberately missing the point? You really think it matters if we play Duke or Wisconsin on a neutral floor or at their place?? You are delusional. This way we get the 100K and play on ESPN against the National Champs. And as long as YOU had a "good time" in Florida, the winless trip to Disney made sense!! lmao We came home no wins, and no money, (twice) but that works? Is that what Fran said before the Memphis game? What he did say after the embarassing 50 pt blowout? This is just your hatred for Patsos, and the other two always "like" your posts. I get it. Nothing will please the haters. Sucks when fans bash their own programs, and the beef is playing at Duke. You said you want Bryant to play at the TUC huh? I call bullshit. IF Jimmy scheduled Bryant in a home and home, you'd the first in line to bash him. Probably saying, "why not play Duke or Kentucky!?" lol

So we should only schedule games we expect to win and play only them in arenas that allow for our entire fan base to attend.

The opportunity to play big schools on a neutral court. How'd that work out?? Record: ? Money: ? Just cause those teams choked doesn't mean it wasn't a great opportunity to get some signature wins.

I've heard rumors that Siena is in financial distress (most colleges are in the United States today) and some have even wondered about the administration's commitment to basketball especially after Father Kevin left.
However using basketball state data Siena spend over $2.8M dollars last year first in the MAAC. It put them at 118 (of 351 teams) nationally. Siena would spend the second most money on basketball in the CAA (Drexel is 116 overall) second in the MAC (Ohio) third in the powerful MVC (behind only national power Wichita State and Bradley). Siena's budget would also put them squarely in the middle of the Mountain West conference.
Teams like George Washington (113) and George Mason (117) are practically exactly on par with Siena (Siena also ahead of Murray State, Davidson, St. Bonaventure,St. Mary's). Siena spends more than a few CUSA and American Athletic teams too. Also right in the ballpark of several A10 programs.
Now you can see why Siena fans were rightly ripping Jimmy after he said Siena was on the same level with UAlbany (236) and Vermont (240).
Time to start getting a bang for our buck.

Time to start getting a bang for our buck. 1.) That's illegal in NY. 2.) You have bucks?

Regarding the 0-4 Disney trip...that team did choke and mightily. I'm not sure what the record *should* have been but I bet most people thought that we had a shot at going 3-1. Additionally, the location is sweet and it is during the Thanksgiving holiday. All in all, not a bad trip. I personally don't have a problem playing high majors but it should be arranged when the team can be competitive. I know scheduling is hard, especially for mids but there has to be something between NJIT and Duke, no?

Exactly right Glen. And...Fran and the staff were not expecting to go 4-0, or to split or to be an easy W for those teams. Just saying.....
