Just noticed the above lists Jimmy Patsos as one of 12 CBB coaches facing the most pressure in 2015-2016. They must read this board.

Some of the pressure is unfair- it’s not Jimmy’s fault Siena sucked for 3 years before he got here. Having that out of the way, last year was unacceptable – although he had plenty of mitigating circumstances. He has to adjust to being at Siena, at Loyola he could say stupid stuff like we are on schedule etc etc after a 20 loss season, that coach speak crap is never going to fly at Siena. After saying it and hearing from the fans about it, to his credit he didn't try to float that B/S anymore instead admitting mistakes were made. Bottom line in all of this Siena hasn’t had a top 4 MAAC finish in 5 years. And no coach has ever survived at Siena after posting back to back losing seasons. Jimmy needs to show progress this year—or I for one will write him off. I am trying to keep an open mind on him, but so far he looks like a Dave Magarity type coach to me. I’m hoping to see some improvement in his coaching this year- so far have not been impressed with Jimmy’s coaching or some of his staff ( poor game plans and not enough player development) and again in fairness it’s only been two years and looks like we will have a new asst coach, and if it’s who we think it’s a huge and I mean huge upgrade over previous coach, who was a bit over his head. Recruiting looks to have up ticked a bit this year (which is another positive sign) Anyway I’ll keep an open mind on Jimmy for one more year. 3 years should be enough to judge a coach and if program is headed in right direction. Although with 3 years left on his contract after this year Jimmy isn’t going anywhere anytime soon- so let’s hope he “gets it” this year

"Siena won the third-tier CBI his first year and was cursed by injuries last season and went 11-20.
Patsos' situation is magnified by a couple of factors: Across town, Albany has been to three straight NCAA tournaments (the schools play in different leagues), and now Siena's off-campus home court, Times Union Center, holds the MAAC tournament. Siena played Iona tough but still bowed out in the first round of it last year.
The MAAC is a solid league. Iona and Manhattan have picked up their games in recent years.
That means Patsos may have to recalibrate fast, or perhaps Siena looks to reignite its fanbase with an up-and-coming assistant from a higher-tier program."
It isn't all that complicated is it, JP feelin some heat ain't a bad thang.......

Injuries were the issue last season and we finished with 20 wins and a winning record after year one. So we are on pace to turn things,around....we have nothing to do with the losing before we came. #Year3

Still a nice end of season run.

It's 31-38 after two years. Good enough for 3 more years. Reevaluate this after year 5.

Last year was a C- to D for Jimmy. Sure the injuries hurt and we were not going to win the league when Brett and Imoh went down but we still should have found a way to finish with a winning record especially with a weak non-conference schedule. Jimmy doesn't hold any responsible for the three years before he came to Siena but right or wrong the Siena fan base has had enough and we want a winning program now. The good news is looks like Jimmy is starting to get what the Siena job is all about. He is recruiting and scheduling better. Now we just need to win! I agree year 3 there is no more excuses!

Recruiting may have taken an upswing but leaving a scholly open with holes at positions, a redshirt and a transfer in critical year in your career doesn't exactly make me warm and fuzzy. Next year at this time I'm sure we'll be saying Jimmy will get it in year 4............. I hope not but I wouldn't bet against it.

We won't land them all but if you are in with enough high level players you'll get your share. One thing Jimmy can do without a doubt is seal the deal. The biggest problem is he hasn't been going after the players the successful Siena coaches have relied on. The shake up on the coaching staff should further help recruiting better players. I'd rather hold the spot then to burn it on an average player. I don't hold JO against him. He just didn't want to be at Siena.

You read it here - All holes have been filled. Jimmy better produce 22 wins against this schedule since we have no holes
