I'd love to have JO back-- doubt he comes back -- JP saying the door is still open is a lot different than JO saying not sure I wanna go? Sure -it's different. But wonder where it comes from? Plus JP has a lot more opportunity and desire to make comments publicly. Hate to say we should take most of what he says with a grain of salt, but I wonder what motivation would he have in saying it? Guess we just have to sit tight.

Comes down to JO staying or leaving. Unfortunately for the mod majors the transfer epidemic needs to be addressed by the NCAA. Yes good banter for us but hurts everyone overall. The only ones maligning out of this epidemic are the major institutions. They get rid of their bad recruits and get the kids they missed and were coached to a higher level than they looked in high school. Definitely needs to be addressed for college basketball. Wish luck to JO no matter what he does, but he does need to mature and act as an adult. Needs to make his own decisions not listen to everyone else.

Good points, but hard to come up with real good suggestions. I would want to know the stats/ of the folloiwng compared to soime year(s) in the past. % of total D1 kids who transfer (probably have to use & due to increased # of D1 schools) # of kids who leave for Pros after 1, 2 & 3 years They should start with more restrictions on the waivers allowing xfers to play right away..

So you know him personally?

Maybe, just maybe, leaving was his own decision........ I don't think anyone has stated, let alone even hinted that JO left as a result of anything but his own decision to do so. He was too valuable a player on this team for it to be for any other reason. I am certain it was not an easy decision and that he had a lot of people close to him help him consider all of the pros and cons and make the right decision for himself. Seeing his buddy get let go likely slanted the table more in the direction of leaving, all other things being equal. The McAdams article (I did not see or read it) apparently did not mention Michael or Maurice and it wouldn't be hard to construct a JP answer to a question about the transfers that declined mentioning Wolfe or White but painted a more amicable departure for JO by saying the door was open to a decision to stay.

Does the kid help us win games? Absolutely. He was on schedule to be the best big in the MAAC the next two years.
I just don't want a half-hearted player here. If he thinks its so great somewhere else, maybe thats where he should be. Get over the Mo departure, and man up.
I do think Jimmy needs to figure out what kids respond to screaming, and which ones don't. It's part of the coaching handbook.

Supposedly anywhere between 30-40% players are transferring. Seems high to me but that what is stated out there. By articles written and facts/ opinions stated here there was outside help with him making the decision. As far as maturity, when I was 20 there was a draft, people were getting shot at in southeast Asia. JO seems like a good person, my challenge is to easy to transfer, not live up to your commitments. Post was not just about JO but more importantly about college ball overall. To the best of my knowledge he has not made a commitment yet, perhaps he will reconsider, not unheard of. Candidly I don't consider St. Bonnie staying close to home, so before other comments are made let's see where he lands. Again JO is just a number, an example unfortunately in a problem with college ball. Both Siena and UA have chased kids out recently, to easy for both the schools and players to transfer and made the situation worse.
