Siena men's basketball negotiating with Harvard to start series that would begin in Albany next season. Crimson won last four Ivy titles. 5 retweets 1 favorite
Does this mean the UAlbany series is off for next year? Siena currently has their OOC schedule already filled (31 games with wounded warriors tournament). Harvard would be a VERY good series to start.
Tommy Amaker has them rolling as an elite mid-major (four straight NCAA trips and two round of 32 appearances). Hopefully Siena can get back to that level very soon!!
I'd drop UAlbany for Harvard in a minute if I'm Jimmy.

Harvard is not drawing 11k correct and the Dartmouth or whoever UA brings in aint getting 11K either more like 1200--I'm fine with series taking a break

I've always liked the local rivalry but all the BS between the two schools has gotten old. I think any real BB fan will be aware of Harvard's recent successes. It should be a great replacement game for UA. Lets move on! Let the dust settle. Who knows how cooler minds will respond to renewing the game 5 or 6 years down the line. I personally think that if we drop the game, it won't be renewed any time soon, if ever.

You guys realize that UA will be walking away with the upper hand and several wins in their pocket, right?!?!?
I'm not in favor of walking until we're dominating again :-)

This sounds like a nice series and solid for the RPI as Harvard usually plays a tough schedule.

Am all for starting a series with Harvard but a real shame if Albany is walking away from the one game that the most capital region fans get to see them each year.

Are you surprised? Look back at Will Browns comments! He has become very self centered and selfish! And he loves the attention it brings!

I think it'd be cool to do a tripleheader at the TUC that day. A Boston vs. Albany showdown. Have RPI play WPI at 5pm, then St Rose vs Bentley at 7, then Siena/Harvard at 9pm.
You might get your 10-11K over the course of the 3 games. Smaller schools students would def come out watching their team at the TUC.

Are you surprised? Look back at Will Browns comments! He has become very self centered and selfish! And he loves the attention it brings! We've been through this 100 times...home and home or walk. Glad UA walked if true, you can give Vermont a home and home and that HS gym but not Albany? As I've made clear 1000 times, put it on TV the SEFCU years. I understand Siena not wanting to give UA an inch...so be it...we'll have to live with 4 in 5 years and go out on top. Again, we'll have to see if this is true. You gotta do what you gotta do and we'll do what we have to do. Harvard is an excellent replacement and you can keep all the money not to mention don't have to deal with UA fans bitching. Take this time to get your program that's fallen faster than a fat man who sat down to fast, back on track.
