Cam can afford Siena......Dad makes at least $2 mil a year. I'd rather give it to Wilson. Didn't realize his dad was pulling that down...

No one is getting it if it's not a "real contributor." Jimmy learned his lesson about keeping one in your pocket in case a BCS kid wants to leave at Christmas and calls them. Only way you can take a kid like that if you have one available that hadn't been used in the first semester.
Gimme a Juco wing that can score, or keep it available for a mid-season transfer.

I think he was at 1.3 before the team made the NCAA turnament, and a 750K bonus kicked in.

Gee, poor Fran's only making a little over $1.8 million! I bet housing and taxes are a lot lower in Iowa.

Canisius just got a decent graduate transfer PG. McMillan from CCSU.
Siena is really limited competitively by not having grad programs or taking JUCOs. I think that even overrides any advantage of fanbase and arena.
There is no avenue for immediate improvement that most other schools have. It's part of the reason for this 5 year slump. Downward trends will continue to be extended until this is rectified.
Siena can't easily compete in today's transfer environment.

Is the juco thing a school policy? If so, it seems it is only limited to athletes since we allow transfers in from HVCC or SCCC for academic programs. Why would they limit athletes?

I don't believe it is a school policy. However, there can be an issue of transferable credits. A course of study at some JUCOs may be different that HVCC or SCCC. I believe that in addition to maintaining a 2.0 or better GPA, the transfer must have a minimum number of transferable credits, per haps 48-60. If someone took welding courses, those would presumably not be transferable, although they were, briefly, at St. Bona.

To add to KS, my understanding is there's usually a reason why someone goes the JUCO route. Sometimes it's grades, how good basketball wise (or lacking), money (many Div 2 & 3 don't offer ships)..
If Siena is trying to academically stay towards the top for its athletics there's only so many lower GPS athletes they want to offer ships to.
JO left and took his higher GPA with him. The walk-ons help with GPA too. So my opinion is maybe Siena doesn't want Jimmy to go that route unless they'll help GPA/Grad rates.
Also, there's that negative stereo-type applied to some JUCOs whereby most others are impacted by those few. They get a bad wrap and don't deserve it in most cases.

Trey Porter, 6-10 200 lbs transferring from George Mason.
3 years of eligiblity remaining.
Averaged 3.5ppg, 2.6rpg and 1.1bpg in 14mpg.
Would be a nice replacement for Silas in a year.
Biggest issue would be joining Fisher, Wormley, Clareth, Larose, and Smithen in the same class.

Does anyone have any information about Marvin Prochets recruiting? It seems like no one is really interested in him anymore, and it is hard to find anything about his recruitment online (recent). I still feel like he would be an absolute stud in the MAAC, and the player we should be going after with the remaining scholarship. Even if it takes him some more time to come back, he would be the kid I would want to lock up.

Team has to just get better and let the rest shake itself out.

I think he is saying that there are other reasons that players go JuCO, not just because of grades. He's also saying since that it is the case sometimes with jucos, and we lost JO, maybe the staff is concerned about the teams GPA. Might be worth the risk at this point, but then again have no idea what the teams grades are like
