If Iona can give players a second chance why can't we... can play right away-better than most other options we have out there

Just this week Iona signed a kid from JUCO and was arrested earlier. Something happened and did not got to Ariz st. Taking a lot of heat on the MAAC board. I would prefer to do it the 'right' way. Have we forgotten already how 'bad chemistry' affected us just 5 months ago?

How can he transfer to us? If he graduated doesn't he need to be an accounting major for? We are pretty limited when it comes to masters programs. Or can he "start" a minor like history?

I don't know anything about these young man, but there certainly is no question about his playing ability. His resume is really impressive.
it's hard to believe we could ever have a shot at this kid.

I didn't see any literature saying that he was earning his degree at Pitt and therefore was a graduate transfer. Since he hasn't played since tearing his ACL in January 2014 (and was suspended last season), I would assume (admittedly am not positive on the precedence on this) that he would be immediately eligible at his new school so long as his academics are in good standing.

And who on this staff is the disciplinarian? Hmmm. I think not.

This would likely upgrade the position but also likely cause certain parties to be upset. It's a big risk to take if he doesn't work out.
You know Iona will be on him.

I could be mistaken, but I think you have to sit a year at your new destination to be eligible to play.

According to a recent article, he will graduate in May so he could play his last year of eligibility right away. Does anyone know if we are really on this kid or is it only wishful thinking? I could see MTS calling and extending an offer but I doubt anything would come of it, LOL.

You know Iona will be on him. he only has one year to play- Iona is set at 3, as for getting anyone upset-- the program is bigger than any one player- we dont worry about that crap- besides Lavon would still be one of our 5 best players Guessing a lot of schools will be on him- but a kid like that would make us contenders next year

I've got a question. Jimmy said we can't take graduate transfers. I get that it is "tougher" because of lack of graduate courses but what about Silas and Bisping? Imoh is graduating in a couple of weeks, right? What the heck is he going to take next year? Brett is coming back for two years (according to JP and the press release when he RS) what is he going to take in 2016-17? I understand it may be different when they are your own players but I'm not buying this whole thing that Siena can't take graduate transfers. You just have to get "creative".
And Jimmy said Siena does not take JUCO players? Lanier had Jamal Jackson. Fran took Diop and Osby. Since when doesn't Siena take a JUCO or two. I'm not saying make a living off it like Iona does but if we are going to "survive" and "thrive" in today's college basketball recruiting scene you can't do it all with freshmen IMHO.

5th year Brett or Imoh can work on a double major ... Once you have a degree you need a graduate program ... T Coles graduated in 3 years and got her masters in accountancy this year - the only graduate program Siena has at the moment.

Imoh said he isn't graduating this year in the TU article a while back. He's taking the opportunity to work on a double major. Brett can do the same or move on after next year, unless he wants to go into accounting.

These guys rarely take full 15 credit courseloads per semester. They usually do 12, the minimum to be considered a full-time matriculated student - and then take summer courses to catch up. So you skip the summer courses, and low and behold an extra year is needed to finish. You then just throw in a few extra courses your final year towards a double major that you'll never actually finish in order to retain full time status that final extra year.
