Mitch Buonaguro just joined Sydney Johnson's staff at Fairfield.
Now Parrotta and Mitch are both on Fairfield's staff. They're just stockpiling unsuccessful head coaches.

Johnson is probably at the end of his leash. I suspect that he wants to stock up on bigger name assistant coaches , who may be desperate for a job, so he can remove the argument tht he failed to hire and use good assistants. I personally don't like ether of those two assistants, but I think it was a smart move by Sydney.

Could be a great move. By most accounts Mitch was a very successful assistant. I don't think Sydney will make it though.

Mitch will do a good job as an assistant. I had heard he had interviewed for RPI's job last year.

Assistant coach is where Mitch excels and is best fit- Good move by Fairfield- Wish him luck except when they play Siena- Sydney needs to get that ship righted quick or he may be out

Sydney hired Mitch and Parrotta- so he cant be undermined. Johnson is highest paid coach in MAAC and his contract runs thru 2018/19 season. And don't kid yourself on Mitch being such a great asst coach- he was good under a competent head coach- Maybe Mitch can help Sydney with the offense.. bahahahahah I look at Fairfield and feel we got it made here at Siena. imagine those 3 amigo's as you coaching staff -- and they will prolly get 2 maybe 3 years burn at FF- imagine the games Johnson/Mitch/Parotta can lose in that time frame.

I agree with those of you wishing Mitch the best. He was a key man during Siena's great run under Fran. As an assistant in Johnson's slow down style, he would be a perfect fit. As a head coach, just not his thing.

For all these people that Say Mitch is such a good asst coach—I have to wonder if in history of college basketball has one coach got as much out of being part of a championship team than Mitch- and keep in mind because of Rollie and Villanova the rules of college basketball were changed. Mitch was head coach at FF, ran them into ground and got fired, went to Texas A&M with Tony Barone was there 6 years had a losing record and got fired, moved onto Cleveland state ( with Rollie) spent 7 years had a losing record there and yeah got fired , hooked with Fran in Greensboro spent 3 years there and yep you guessed it Spartans had losing record the 3 years Mitch was there- Only successful period in Mitch’s entire career post Nova was the 5 years as Asst coach with Fran at Siena – so excuse me if I don’t buy what a great asst coach Mitch was— he was arguably the worst head coach in history of MAAC – Mitch is 61 this is a nice golden parachute for him—work a few years until Sydney gets fired . So yeah goods for Mitch--- feel for Fairfield faithful

He was a huge part of multiple championships at Siena. You're a joke! So it didn't work out for him here, no hard feelings on my end and wish him well.

For all of those who have tuned in for MP's half of the show, those comments have been moved to the Lavon Long segment of the board. In other words, I, the vocal MP have gotten Smacked by the Chairman!

Let’s review shall we! If Mitch wasn’t hired ...Siena would … 1. Have more respect in the MAAC & NCAA! 2. Have another championship?! Maybe 2?! 3. Be the A10..instead Davidson?! 4. Less drama filled rants! 5. Wouldn’t have to deal with disrespect from UAlbany!
