I believe in Wright, Bisping, Silas, Oliver, WB, and Long and what they can do. I believe that if some combo of Clareth, Wormley, LaRose, and Paige provide decent backcourt play...especially on defense...that Siena can win in this league.
And I think Patsos can get them there despite all the issues and his weaknesses.
He has 3 really athletic guards. He presses. His teams draw a ton of fouls on offense. The offense was not the problem this year. This is the same Patsos that won at Loyola with sub 30% 3 point shooting with those 3 seniors.
He does some things right. Losing JO hurts the interior play but we have the pieces to turn around the defense. We have some perimeter athletes with size and we have some rebounders and interior toughness.
This team can still be a complete team, JO or no JO.
Let's give Jimmy a chance to land some more talent and a year to see how this thing goes.

It will be interesting to see what will happen now there are two scholarships available. Hope they are used very wisely. It is critical for next year and beyond. Bottom line not one but two impact recruits needed to move out of mediocrity.

if this was the only thing that happened it would be ok. It is far from it. It is more of the same, and consistent with coach's tenure throughout his career. What do you want me to say? I'm trying to look at the bright side here. Everyone is going into Mitch mode. I have not been fond of all the decisions made to date but I still see a team that has potential. JP has a decent core to work with. He's got some potential in the frosh. It is counter productive to get negative on the coach especially during a recruiting period. Really, well I happen to think it is more counter productive to call an amateur former Saints player "soft" during a recruiting period (and all other periods), especially one that lost his mother and still worked his butt off to play for a losing coach two years. But to each his own I guess.

This freaking staff better not rest on their laurels of landing a few good recruits already in this class. They have 2 ships to give an better get a killer 3 & 5 NO more lazy recruiting! There have been coaches let go with more to come so plenty of signees will be approachable. Staff also must learn to adjust to the talent and personalities they have in the program and manage the young men and games accordingly! As you can probably tell - IMHO this is a B A D sign...... I believe they are all taking turns on Christian Laettner's hammock as we speak

Now is the time to land a transfer for 1 if not 2 of the available ships or we will be so out of balance four years out.

I wish OJ lots of luck in the future! As for next year- I tend to believe that WB can carry the load next year! And funny expect him to make the jump like OJ did last season - with more aggressive defense and offense! The kid is a beast!!

I wish JO the best. It really stinks to loose a local kid but if anybody could do it, it's Jimmy.

But to each his own I guess. Gorvy, I wasn't speaking of you persay but you obviously took offense. As far as JO being 'soft'. Is it alright to say Silas is not a good FT shooter? What does losing a family member have to do with that? Why does that even come into the conversation? It's the kids personal life. This is basketball. They should be completely separate. I didn't think he had a great energy level or was a great rebounder in the film I saw in HS...so I said so. That's all. It's not personal. And I first brought it up long before his mom passed away. But the latter fact shouldn't even be a topic of discussion on a public forum. Anyway, I'm just trying to be positive. It's my job to be the optimist in bad times and skeptical in good times. It's kind of my thing.

Good luck to him, we should all respect him. Wondering where he will go? Not MAAC or AE, Siena releases him know that will be one of the restrictions. A10 CAA Patriot? Siena seems always the class act for transfers, never mentioning real reasons, look at Cole with the rumors. Best of luck to JO.

Highly doubt he's leaving Siena for the patriot league. A-10 seems most likely. Wasn't he recruited by Buffalo?

Best of luck to JO. I'm really glad this Mickey Mouse administration gave Patsos that extra year after buying the CBI.
