I think you have to be a certain type of player to fit the Jimmy Patsos coaching style and not everyone does. Not everyone does well with his "in your face" approach. I think a lot of players still like him and fit in OK, but losing JO is a huge loss to our program.

Not good., is this a symptom of a bigger issue? The issue is that his mother is gone and his family is down in the city. The kid needs his family, I don't blame him.

So sorry to hear this....great kid. Good for him to have relationship with Dad. Wish him nothing but the best and will follow him wherever he ends up.

This sucks. His trajectory was one of the bigger reasons for my optimism for next year.
As KK said, Brett and Imoh better be healthy.
I wish JO well. I predict he'll end up in a higher conference, and do well there.
This is a BIG loss.

An earlier poster noted Jimmy's attire (rather lack of Siena attire) at the HS games this past weekend. Today's news makes that even stranger - if he knew JO was leaving, and if they talked about it over two days I'm sure he knew he'd be gone, why didn't Siena have JOB FAIR like postings and tables set up at the HS site? I wonder how much the constant view of Jimmy's grill colored Javion's desire for new "scenery"? I also wonder which one of the Mitch bashers will now raise the issue that JO was initially a PW recruit?
I wish Javion the best and hope his defection is the last one for this year anyway.

JP has been very patient with these kids trying to motivate them. We need some kids with some fire in them. I like the remaining kids and I'm happy about what I hear about the new recruits. Two scholarships now open- hopefully JP gets another 3 star recruit.

I'm not buying the need to move closer to other family - Javion, as I understand it, has a very strong pseudo support "family" in this area and it would surprise me if he is bailing on them solely for greener pastures. I think the Cole-antibiotic did not stem the infection.

This is why you guys have to stop with the depth charts and the logjams at positions. The only log we have is the one carrying our players down the stream.

Mark Singelais @marksingelais 7m7 minutes ago Siena soph. C Javion Ogunyemi is transferring, head coach Jimmy Patsos says via text. And the beat goes on...............and Javion is not the one I am most worried about. Who is "the one you are most worried about" MP? Don't tease us and leave us hanging like that! Tough break....definitely hurts. Don't know the reason but doesn't look good for JP. Of course nobody knows the full story yet. Just my speculation but I believe JO was close to Lucious Jordan. Good chance Lucious (and Luke) will be gone soon. Wish JO the best - at least it was done now and not in June (i.e. Kojo Mensah) Two 'ships opening - JP needs to get recruiting. Only sliver lining is we are deep up front. Guard play will determine Siena (and Jimmy's) fate next year. Like Siena1971 said Maryland had a bunch of guys move on and got better. Not that we are Maryland but lets face it you go 11-20 and maybe SOME movement isn't bad.

I can't believe you would really think that any Patsos induced dissatisfaction would be the same from other coaches. "Very patient" is, to be kind, a stretch, IMO anyway.
