Wright needs a supporting cast, he'll get his accolades. Wasn't meant to be this year.

Wright, Bisping, Lavon and JO should all have chances to make postseason All-MAAC teams next year as juniors and the following year as seniors. All have the talent to do so. Let's hope they work hard on their games in the off-season and get better.

Wright dominated Casimir in rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks while shooting the same percentage from the floor. Wright belonged over Casimir who they could have just given rookie of the year to and left him off the all conference teams. Also, compare the numbers on Wright against Okereafor or Deon Jones, not even close. Counting Poole that is at least 4 that Marquis should have been named over. nope sorry am not buying it siena finished 8th wright didn't have a good year and in fact may have regressed a tad Casimir is dominant player and deseved 2rd team Iona won a lot of games. Quis might not be in top 4 point guards in conference. As for other players Rider and Monmouth finish way higher than siena. 8th place teams don't deserve much in way of all maac honors 2nd to AJ English in combined rebounds and assists per game, 2nd to Justin Robinson in assist/turnover ratio, 3rd to Chauvaghn Lewis and Emmy Andujar in steals per game. Pretty rough to not make any all MAAC team with those numbers. Edit: Note that the 2nd to AJ English was of guys with 4 of each per game.

only so many spots.... siena had a bad year, Poole is a senior he gets the nod.... also, vs Casimir, he scares the shit out of coaches as he can drop 30 on you... wright doesn't have that same game, so prob gets overlooked some. you don't get rewarded on a shitty team for being decent.

See you know what matters but the selection folks only care about the points. That's why its hard for true pgs or pass first players to make those teams

That's why its hard for true pgs or pass first players to make those teams that's not always true.. last two years Ronald Moore Avg 7 ppg one year and 8ppg the next and made 2nd team ALL MAAC one year 1st team the next -- its about winning and the Saints didn't win.. and quite frankly Quis and Lavon didnt deserve it, other players worked harder and improved more than them.

Agreed. Robinson pure pg and he made 1st team due to his teams success.

Robinson deserved to make a team but surprised he got first team (thought 2nd team frosh/sophs don't usually get 1st team).
Robinson had a better year than Wright but his numbers were only "slightly" better.
Robinson - 31.9 MPG - 13.4 PPG - 3.3 RPG - 3.8 APG - 1.9 TO - 1.7 Steals - .423 FG - .386 3 PT FG - .796 FT
Wright - 36.6 MPG - 12.7 PPG - 4.3 RPG - 5.0 APG - 2.6 TO - 2.1 Steals - .435 FG - .286 3 pt FG - .679 FT
But Robinson's team finished four places higher and went 2-0 against Wright's team.
Still I'm biased. I'm glad Marquis is Siena's PG for the next two years! He's a part of the solution not the problem!

I disagree with that Casimir 1st place team-- I think other than a few die hard Siena fans, you'd be hard pressed to find many people that think Wright is better than Casimir-- we were on the other side of this argument when Siena was dominating the MAAC and dominating the ALL MAAC awards,,Okereafor and wright had similar stats Okereafor team finished 2nd Wrights team finished 8th ..Jones same deal similar stats Jones team finished 4th Wrights 8th You guys are acting surprised 8th place teams don't get nor do they deserve many All conference accolades. anytime you have close stats the MAAC has always rewarded the better teams as they should

Wright was clearly better last year - this year not the case-- Wright has to work harder

Back when Siena was good I was whining about Frank Turner and Ryan Bacon getting screwed (comment #26): blog.timesunion.com/collegesports/siena-gets-three-on-all-maac-first-team/7110/
