Not sure I agree with that- the 2002 team was very talented and under achieved all season. This team under achieved but truth of the matter isn't all that talented. Injuries hurt and coaching mistakes were made for sure. I'm not sure Jimmy himself realized what coaching at Siena means. If he did last years lazy recruiting would have never happened. I'm not sure this team wins another game this year- we are no better than 50/50 in Thursday game. I'll be very interested to see what if any changes on assistant coaches. And if our roster is complete just a reminder if you cant read story google "Siena basketball can draw inspiration from 2002 team" - and you'll be able to read story www.timesunion.com/tuplus-sports/article/Iorizzo-Siena-basketball-can-draw-inspiration-6108383.php

From another article
"I'm really lucky to coach here, and I'm really happy to coach here," Patsos said. "We're on target."
Yikes.

Yikes. hehehee better be coach speak- or Jimmy's time here will be brief..LOL..On target my ass..and BTW can someone tell me what the 5 year plan is? -- never heard that when he was hired. In the past Siena's long standing goal for men's basketball team was to compete for championship- now all I hear Jimmy talking about is some 5 year plan? Has Siena's goals changed? Has Jimmy shared that 5 year plan with Siena? And if So why hasn't Siena shared that plan with its partners ( season ticket holders) what does a 5 year plan mean? Should I plan on a winner in another 3 years-- or does it mean after 5 years we get a 15 seed and 1st round NCAA ass kicking-- just what is the plan? If I dont get details of the plan I can assure Siena I will not be spending 1500 bucks for my tickets next year-- I'll wait for another 2 or 3 years

To add another question to your excellent ones - has the 5 year "secret" plan started or is next year the first following the great awakening? Maybe he is looking to retire in 5 years!

Siena will win again in 3 to 4 years. It's the way the cycle goes. 8- 10 years Siena is really good and NCAA bound.

Listening to JP I feel like I'm listening to a used car salesman. You know they're getting the best part of the deal but you sign anyway.

Siena just needs to get a little better over the next few years, Iona is the top dog and looks like they will be again next season. If Siena gets the right corporate sponsors to help them get through the next few seasons they will be fine.

I believe the 5 years started when he signed his contract. It was 4 then became 5 to help with recruiting I would think. To give this freshmen class some security. Patsos knows if he does not get this program back to where the fan base wants it during these 5 years there won't be 5 more. Patsos knows this business well enough to know who signs his checks. He knew all of the risk before he took the job. I still believe in his ability to get it done. Yes I am bias and neeeeed to be right because my son is on the team.

Happen to agree with both sides. JP made mistakes coaching and recruiting. He also had some bad luck this year with the injuries. Does he need to revise his staff wouldn't hurt. This season has to be thrown out due to the injuries and Cole etc. I know many do not want to hear this but the team overachieved last year and gave all of us false hopes. We all want to live in the past, well don't forget 5 years JP was in the MAAC Saint Fran was coaching at Siena. JP not the greatest coach certainly not the worst, ride the storm out is the only thing we can do.

Maybe in year five of the plan we will find them out.
