No Siena coach has ever posted a winning season after first posting two consecutive losing seasons. That's the bar that should be built into every contract as long as it is in the Maac. I know you guys want to discount the CBI (even the Admin is parroting this now) but the fact is it happened, and it proves that he is capable of posting a winning team. No guarantees but I remain optimistic that more games will be won than lost, starting next season. Whether or not he is capable of posting the kind of success we enjoyed under Deane, Hewitt and McCaffery is an entirely different matter.

I can live with this year and write it off as a one time exception if we get better and contend next year. The CBI title did buy him a little more time (with some people) but even without it I think he did about as good of a job consider the disaster he took over - winning MAAC record. This year was obviously a big disappointment (I don't care even if hell freezes over and we win four games this weekend) and now Jimmy's "mulligan" is gone. I would rather have one stinker of a year once in a blue moon and then sustained success (18-20 regular season wins - contending every year) then to be 15-15 EVERY year. Remember next year I believe we're starting off at Duke and at Georgetown so you hope if you take two beatings it makes the team better for the long run of the season. I don't think this year's OOC did ANYTHING for us. It didn't make us stronger/tougher and we still lost the games.

Certainly didn't do anything for the players, as far as bringing them along faster. Poor MW feel sorry for the kid. Tries so hard and can't put the ball in the ocean. Good kid called goes out and tries. JP should get next year as he will have the recruits he wants. Hope he brings in some talent as assistants.

I don't know how anyone can judge this injury riddled season.

I don't see why everybody says the cbi gave false hope. How can that be if injuries were the issue this year. The two concepts don't jive.

I think maybe MAYBE 3-5 games difference at best if silas and bisping stay healthy. None of that addresses the issues this team has at the 2 and 3 and backing up wright.

Just playing devils advocate.

Hard to put a number on it-- 3 is ridicules--- 5 maybe on low side 8 or 9 on high side- Nobody is saying this team would have won 25 games-- but could have easily been 19-10 instead of other way around ( although that is probably reaching on the high side since Cole was a cancer)

Hard to predict exactly how many more games we would've won had Brett/Imoh not went down and Lavon/Poole hadn't been playing injured. This team was overrated by many for sure but I don't think it is crazy to say it would have been around a 17-12 or 16-13 team without the injuries and Cole disaster. However we didn't handle the adversity very well. The team was much more resilient last year. I think some of our players might have rested on their laurels after winning the CBI (which is head scraching to me the goal is the MAAC championship/NCAA tournament bid).
As far as recruiting a wing next year it is definitely possible - Jimmy has to continue to up the talent any time that he can. With Brett and Imoh back along with JO and Fisher I wonder if we might see Willem Brandwijk play some SF? He has a good outside touch and European big men tend to be more finesse than rugged and battling inside. Fisher also has been described as a "stretch 4".
