Does anyone know what BCANY's Mr Basketball award means (criteria)? I went to BCANY's website and without becoming a member couldn't find any info on it. I did find this coaches association's list of top 50 players, by class, alphabetically by school. However, I couldn't find any correlation between this top 50 and the finalists for this award. LaRose and Roland were listed on both lists but Grovan nor Ryan were in the top 50. Jamil Hood, Sterling Taplin, LaRose & Cremona were in the top 50. Wonder if the Mr Basketball is more than being a good player and maybe has academics or something else in it. If someone finds the criteria of the award, please post link. Thanks. media.wix.com/ugd/b7ad0b_8dca2975c0ef453cb033219cfeaa35c8.pdfLook at the past winners - lots of NBA players. I think it has everything to do with on the court performance this season and nothing to do with academics or anything else. Probably mostly stats based since no one has seen every kid in the state play. Just a guess on my part though, I couldn't fit anything either.

Possible, but I don't understand why two of the finalists didn't make the same BCANYs Top 50. If on court performance was the only factor, I would assume those two would have made the same organization's Top 50. I also noticed several other Section II players missing from the Top 50 (including the top scorer). So, now I wonder how the Top 50 is comprised in addition to the Mr Basketball finalists.

Your link is for last season is it not? Different voters too I think.

I admit I didn't read the 2014, just cruzing thru the sit when I stumbled across the Top 50 listing and assumed. Now I do feel like an A$$. Thanks for the clarification and now it makes sense to me. I will expect to se all four finalists listed in the 2015 Top 50, and we should see Winkowski too this year. I find it had to believe he'd be snubbed after getting the Sec II scoring title.

Easy mistake to make - I would expect to see them all there as well.

I recently turned 50 and I've been blaming everything on that. When in fact I've always miss read things (read too fast and/or read for what I want to see/understand).

LaRose, has been nominated for that one too, I believe.
