I'm not sure what Paige could do given some 3 time and a green light to shoot. seeing as he is in jimmy's shithouse again, that green light won't be given any time soon. why do you say that?

Practice is where Paige must show he can play the 3. I thought he was recruited as a big guard and would play 2/3 for us. He has to prove it in practice and beat someone out. Hard to do as a freshman though. maybe i am reading too much into this, BUT, he instead gets thrown to the wolves at a position not suited for him, then gets benched for making mistakes? w poole hobbled, long hobbled, no other real player of not to play a solid 2/3, jimmy couldn't find a few minutes each half at the 3 for paige, vs getting tore up inside by guys way bigger? Starting 0 for 8 from 3 point range didn't help. The numbers from 3 by everyone on the team under 6'5" have been pretty horrifying as a whole.

Really you dont think it anything to do with fact besides two turnovers Griffs went right after him defensively going inside 1st two trips down floor? Or fact both Griffs and Jaspers are big inside? Do you think Jimmy Patsos would play Paige at 3 if he was capable of playing the 3. After all Patsos sees Paige every day in practice.

Maybe Jimmy Paige's mother should come on the board and tell you herself. He is more a 3 than a 4. And he played great against Manhattan in Riverdale.

Teams can and do adjust-- All I know is Jimmy Paige played the 4 in high school and is obviously struggling adjusting to the 3 in college - truth be told he is not that quick . Persoanlly I think he was a recruiting mistake, that wasn't well vetted, I'm sure the staff envisioned Paige at the 3 not the 4 and maybe Jimmy Paige develops into a role player at the 3 ( he just isnt quick enough to be prime time player) But I do know the staff wants to win if they thought Paige could help us at 3 he would be playing the 3. I should add I hope Paige proves me wrong and has a bang up career at the 3-- I could be wrong-- but I doubt it

I'm not a fan of White playing--- but only reason why White had to play was he was only guard that could keep Jasper players in front of him- Correct me if I'm wrong but Paige hasn't shown abilty to play 3 let alone 2- If Oliver and Hymes weren't getting lit up White would have never played

Well someone has to go to free up the next scholarship right??? Trouble is, the only 'to go's' are JP recruits. Anyway you slice it, won't be pretty.

That's usually a no-no. Still, I watched Paige in HS video and AAU video. I thought he was a small forward. Him playing PF for us didn't really enter my mind. He was driving, finishing, pulling up, shooting threes, hitting midrange, and dunking. He was doing a lot of different things. I don't know where that guy went. He's not THAT slow. And I think it partially looks like it because he's forced into a half court game vs. bigs all the time. When he's cutting to the basket he looks good. He's shooting 75% from the line and that was typical of him in HS. He's finishing well and rebounding well. Unless he's just clanking them all the time in practice I'm not sure why he's forced into this frontcourt thing. And it seems like it was like that from the get-go. He had a lot of big 3 pt shooting games in HS. His shot doesn't look bad. Seems to me it's mostly that the coaching staff is forcing him that way. I only even remember him attempting to drive the ball once. I think it was an assist to Hymes at Radford. He's stuck in the role of setting screens and boxing out inside.

I can see kids having to develop but if they don't fit at all why offer? Now Jimmy Paige gets left out in the cold because at 6'4" he's not a 4 in the MAAC. Who'd a thunk a 6 4 guy would struggle at that position? I hope you're wrong too Tony.

At the same time, White has been given every chance in the world to be a guard over the last 2 years. And I'm not sure he shot well on any level and he never handled the ball in HS either. Why give White all these chances but then not give them to Paige? Just because he's quicker? That's really the only advantage White has over him at all.

I believe players like Wolfe,White and Paige are better suited to an up- tempo game where their quickness and or tenacity benifit them. When they play the half-court game those deficiencies are more obvious whether its size or defensively.Against Manhattan White entered the game on two occasions with the Saints trailing by ten or more pts(If my bad memory recollects),Even though all his points were scored from the foul line his ability to get by his man opened up the game for others to score and help close that gap.He also appears to play man-to-man D better against more athletic-type players as he was pivotal (IMO)in the CBI series against Fresno St.So,there are times when these players can help.!GO SAINTS!!
