I was able to Google: "area's fountain of youth" and it brought me to the whole article (without having to login to the Premium TU. Try it that way. HJ, will you be in the box tonight? If so, I'll bring you a copy.

Thank you. That's how I pulled it up without having to log into the premium section of TU, but when I copied it to paste for others (on my phone) the link I got was the first one. But it didn't work for me the second time. That's odd.

I got it.....thanks!
The boy should be a great player with thoese genes. His Dad was a real good player (Wincowski type) in his own right, but I think his Mom was Miss Basketball in NYS her senior year at Shen. She played at Richmond.

I know I asked this before but forgot the answer: is there any limit to number of years a kid can play varsity HS BBall? If a kid plays from 7th or 8th grade on can they actually play 5-7 yrs varsity (as long as they're within the age requirement)?

As long as he starts his senior year 18 or younger I think.

5 years
That's when the "eligibility clock" starts for "selectively classified" students. Those are junior-high students who play high school sports. The "Duration of Competition" rule in the NYSPHSAA handbook, states that selectively classified students "shall be eligible for competition during five consecutive seasons of a sport commencing with the pupil's entry into the eighth grade, or six consecutive seasons of a sport commencing with the pupil's entry into the seventh grade."

I played 5 years but that was at the butt-crack of the dawn of Title IX! In other words, there weren't many other females available and the rules were not as well defined!

It depends on the state. There were 3 girls in MD a few years back that lost a year of eligibility in HS because they played varsity as 8th graders in a K-12 private school

Didn't the kid Damon something or other, that Indiana signed years ago play high school ball as a 7th grader?
