He is talking about Bino that used to coach there I think and is now at UMD. Also a few coaches in the area like Clatchey at MSJ...the school Lawrence came from. Orlando hasn't been at Marist in 8 years! lol So he was there like 5 coaches ago. That's like saying any kid we sign this year is because of Andrew Francis?? Sorry Bino had nothing to do with Lamb neither did clathey, so that's not true. The kid from Bmore is not Marker"s recruit he was already at Marist. She's out of the loop. Maker has some connects in MD I will leave it at that, so does Qpac and Monmouth. Qpac got 2 kids in 2015 that can be All MAAC kids. Monmouth stays in the gym in the DMV/MD area and there going after guys who would be impact guys that can play at higher conferences. Lastly, St. Peter's also has MD ties with an Asst Coach on the staff from MD that also has AAU ties. Yes the MAAC is heavy in the DMV/Bmore which is great. The success of a guy like Zaid Hearst helps draw more kids to the MAAC same with Marquise Wright. Anyway, Lamb had taken two other officials last fall before the HS season started but didn't commit , so one of the schools took someone at his position. The other was still involved. He was due to visit FL International from Conf USA who has new Coach that took Norfolk St to the NCAA tourney. Then there was one lower level A10 involved but the coach could be fired so that wasn't the best spot. Marker"s D3 connects will help him big time. This whole business is relationships. Marist is recruiting few other BMore/DMV kids right now. There also looking at a pretty good kid from upstate NY, and I hear he may commit.

so siena lost a recruiting battle to Marist. It appears that our subcontracted recruiting advisor didn't see a position for him.

I was thinking the same thing.

so siena lost a recruiting battle to Marist. No they didn't lose out to Marist. Monmouth and Marist were the two MAAC schools recruiting LAMB the hardest. Siena was involved, but not as hard as Marist, Monmouth, FIU, and few other lower level A10 schools.

Slim, I think many of us believed that our staff, with three of the four coaches having coached in Baltimore and the fourth and the DOBO having played there, gave Siena a clear recruiting advantage in the DMV relative to the rest of the MAAC. It sounds like that may not be as true as we had thought. Based on what you know, how would you rank the staffs in terms of their ability to recruit in the DMV?

Slim, thanks for all the info on lamb. If you are still coaching, good luck for you and your players. Yankee- Thanks a lot. Yes I'm still Coaching we had great 2015 class 5 guys going D1 schools so far(Colorado St, GW, Radford, VMI,Marist), and another going D2. We have 3 kids left on the board in the 2015 class. It's now on to 2016/2017 class. Also, I enjoy the MAAC our guy Zaid Hearst is leaving and now Isaish Lamb is arriving. Lamb is high character kid and hardworker. Marker seems committed to change the culture there. Good luck to Marist.
