Was this his first offical visit?? If it was, this isn't a big deal. Coing off an ACL injury, he might have lost some interest. I'm sure he was promised a starting spot (Lewis') too He wasn't prosimed anything. Hope he fully recovers and has a good career at Marist.

Slim, if you have any info you would like to share about this player you coached, could you private message it or better yet, post it on the MAAC board for Marist fans to see? Siena fans, I am not recruiting him off your board:), just seems like he knows this player and might give us some hope for better days ahead.

As for the rivalry/vitriol between Marist/Siena...we can't worry about you as much any longer...we have to worry about the program right down the street

Young Mr. Lamb made a good decision. I have been a Siena fan since the 50's. Back when Siena fans respected and backed their players. Unless you are super man and never make a mistake and always play perfectly, stay clear of Siena. The little minds on this board will question your every move, they will infer you are lazy, unmotivated and don't care. Go to a school where the fans are supportive and in your corner. Old fashion, unsophisticated folks who want you to do well.

Respectfully, a lot has changed since the 50's. College athletics are big business. If you think things haven't changed at Marist how can you explain the women's team out drawing the men dominantly since Jared Jordan and CO. graduated? Marist College's basketball program is not the mainstay of the campus. The academic profile there is much broader and the athletic investment is more diversified. When the basketball program is the 'face of the college' as it is at Siena, and the athletic marketing is based on it, the expectation meter is significantly raised.

Most of the heat is directed at the coaches who are paid professionals. I agree with Greenblood's post too - this is big business. Men's basketball and their success is a big part of Siena College - generating revenue and attracting the best possible students to the college. Siena1971 has shown how applications dropped from the Fran years to the Mitch years. The program needs to get back on track now.

Verballing to a 2-19 team with a SR SF on his first official. I guess coming off an ACL tear, grabbing the first thing he saw makes some sense.

Kid is not chaser and prob would pick Marist even if he stayed healthy. They went to his practices , games etc before his injury he was there number 1 guy and they showed it. People worry about the wrong stuff go where they love you. Marist record to me is wash with first year coach who hasnt recruited his own kids, and playing with injuries. Jump the gun that's funny. It's almost Feb of his senior year. Marist also had some inside connections. Marist also grabbed very good combo guard I believe from FL. I seen him play up at the hoophall event in MASS. He's easy A10 player good get there too. Him, hart, lamb nice core backcourt going forward. I know a very good big from NY Marist is trying get. Maker is well connected watch!!!

I know he had a ton of interest at the mid-major level. Tearing your knee up in January definitely scared some people off. Marist needs a lot of help, and you say they babysat him all season, good for them in beating our several better program for his signature. There's 40 min available at his position open, and if they had him as their #1 target, the position is his. Rwgardlesss if it was verbally promised, or with a wink, whatever. I'm sure we'd all love to hear more about the "insiders" Marist had with this Baltimore kid. I thought we were the only ones in the MAAC recruiting down there. Maybe this will wake up our staff and open them up to finally recruiting kids in upstate NY.

Also a few coaches in the area like Clatchey at MSJ...the school Lawrence came from.

That's like saying any kid we sign this year is because of Andrew Francis??
