you give me your reason for yes, and I will give you mine for no If he can go by February 10, absolutely. That still allows him to play, in total, half the regular season games and all of the post season, whatever that nay amount to. Siena will be mid pack in the MAAC, higher or lower end depending on Brett. If he's back by Feb 10, Siena still has a decent shot at a top 5 seed and tourney title in the TUC.

No!!! We would have only six games left plus the tournament. We will need a fully recovered and game ready Brett. He is a proven commodity for the 2015-2016 season. Sorry to say but....what difference will it make this season.

I'm in the no category. Doubt he will be back to 100% game shape any time soon, especially with our depleted numbers. The only place we can go this year is Dayton and I'd gladly give that "honor" up to have Brett at 100% for a full year with a full roster (whatever the hell that means with this coach). One major decider is whether Brett wants another full year - I believe he will graduate on time and that could be problematic for him to remain at Siena (we only have a minimum number of graduate courses as I understand it, even though our last two head coaches keep referring to us as a University).

it all comes down to will he want to play his redshirt year? If so... then no, dont play him. If he plans on playing one more year then you go ahead and let him come back.

It would be interesting to see what the trainers and physical therapists are doing with him for his rehab. A Brett at 75% would worry me, particularly the risk of further injury to his body.

Some of you are confusing me. Brett is a junior, he will be back next year either way, with no guarantee beyond that. Why throw away this year?

He would help but not enough to risk further injury. Even at home, don't see us winning the MAAC from a 5 seed.

It is up to him. First, he knows his physical condition the possibility of getting into 100% game shape, second, he knows whether or not he wants to play one or two more years for Siena.

We are talking about regaining 1/5 to 1/4 of s season for a player who likely will be nowhere near 100% for most, if not all, of those games vs getting a full year if he decided to either delay graduation (double major, etc.) or take MS level courses available at Siena. Seems like a no brainer to me. I don't see the NCAA PIG game as a desired goal; we certainly have zero chance at the NIT and I doubt the other two would have us unless we ran the table from here to the MAAC which is highly unlikely, IMHO anyway.

I'd bet the PIG is a desired result for the players (especially the seniors) and the MAAC, actually. The tourney "first round game" is a great chance at an NCAA "win" and thus extra revenue.

Having him back may be just what the team needs to gel. But, this decision is Brett's.

I want Brett to do what's best for him. However, as a fan I want him back this season if he's not planning on RSing. He could help us win the MAAC tourney. If he's willing to RS and play his 5 th yr at Siena - then I wouldn't want him to come back this season and get his RS.
I don't know the rules but I'm pretty sure to be eligible to play his 5th year he doesn't have to be a major I any graduate degree. He simply could take courses towards another 4 yr degree major.
Anyone know the rules?
