Which came first the Chicken or the Egg? Does a coach make the players or do the players make a coach ? What is known for sure is that a coach gets some players and may inherit some others. End of philosophical discussion. No need to flog a supine equine any longer.

Sound familiar? My god. “I just didn’t think we emotionally had it,” Siena coach Jimmy Patsos said. “I’ll take that as a coach. I’ll accept the blame. It’s my fault. I just thought we’d be sky high going for the (weekend) sweep.” Well he really can't come out and say the players played like shit, 34% shooting and 17 TOs...

Jimmy just received a T that will take effect at the start of Friday's game. Wait, what?

Jimmy just received a T that will take effect at the start of Friday's game. Wait, what? Yes, for a new infraction designed just for patsos called "excessive finger pointing too close to Ryan Oliver's eye". The good news is, one of our players gets to take the shots so the score will likely still be 0-0 at tip-off.

I dare you to watch the presser! Un-f'n-believable. He reveals his coaching/planning style - use the NBA match-em technique! Match your starters to theirs, your bench to theirs, and the "intangibles" - I assume that DOESN'T include how his opponent's coaching abilities compare with his! His conclusion - post game - we didn't win any of those match ups! No shit Sherlock! You got outcoached, you continue to use a random "pray someone gets open" offense if the obvious "let's pass it around the perimeter until JO gets open" isn't working - fail that and let Evan attack the trees! Brilliant! It's worked so well in the past, it lets us fans watch away from the ball to see what else is happening or more likely not happening - we know "the" play ain't going down. At least our bad news bears gives you many, many opportunities to rant and rave and scream and blame someone else for your shortcomings! To think you wrangled $400K out of us for NOTHING! I think the jury is collecting their notebooks and getting ready to exit the court.
Now I lay me down to sleep - I pray the Lord will give you two quick T's to make my visit to Draddy one with a shred of hope!

They start two senior guards, and a senior PF that could easily make 3rd team All-MAAC. Not making excuses, but anytime you have two seniors starting in your backcourt in this league, you're gonna be in good shape. No energy today. Wright is the one we feed off, and he didn't seem very interested today. We just don't have kids that can score the ball off the bounce. Create their own shots. Our post entry passing is awful. It's gonna be a long year folks. Kids coming back from injury, and with a few impact recruits, we can be back in the mix in '15-'16. This years a wash. 12 wins will be a chore. Yeah I'm the eternal optimist but this is looking like a 12 or 13 win season - maybe we get to Sunday in the MAAC tournament if we're lucky. But I don't see a repeat of last year's CBI run. Something is missing with this team and it isn't likely to appear this season. It's not just the injuries - something has been off all year - chemistry, lack of focus, whatever. Next year is a critical year for Jimmy. The third year is HUGE for a coach and the team will basically be all of his players. It's time for him to show his recruiting ability and sign two studs. Siena will get Silas and Bisping back (still hope Brett comes back if he can this year). We will miss Poole and won't replace all of his numbers but two athletic shooters will help fill the gaps. If we don't seriously contend for the MAAC title next year Jimmy is going to be on the hot seat - there's no other way around it. This will be the fifth year we have not contended for a MAAC championship. While he isn't responsible for the first three of those years and took over a tough situation this fan base is getting restless and it is definitely understandable. I'm still behind JP and think he'll get it done but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried or had no doubts about him. MTS........if the best we can hope for is a 12-13 win season, why would you want to bring Brett back this year? What is the benefit? I hope that Brett is out the rest of this year, and works on getting stronger and back in shape for next year. If he then wants to play in his fifth year, that would be great. Would love to have him back then. And you say that you're "......still behind JP and think he'll get it done but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried or had no doubts about him". That's some statement of support! If you were really behind the guy, you would have ended that sentence after the word "done". So, unless you can be more affirmative and unequivocal, sounds to me like you aren't really "behind" Jimmy after all, and are, in fact, probably already scouring the college coaching ranks for his successor. Any names so far that you care to share? I think that we're all frustrated by, and disappointed in, this season, but this isn't the team that any of us........including the players and coaches, I'm sure.........expected to see on the court. And by his on-court behavior and public statements, Jimmy doesn't make it any easier to give him the benefit of the doubt in terms of his ability to put everything together going forward. But after only a year-and-a-half, and given all of the injuries the team has suffered this season (Imoh, Brett, Lavon, Rob, Maurice), along with the transfers of Michael and Patrick, I don't think it's fair to pass final and damning judgment on Jimmy. Last year, he dug the program out of a very, very deep hole and, with a strong finish, gave us all a lot to hope for this season. Those hopes have been dashed, in large part, because of the numerous injuries, all of which are beyond anyone's control, and because of the transfers (and there were probably very good reasons for both of those transfer, which none of us are privy to). I'm not his biggest fan, but I think he deserves more time without having to endure all of the criticism he's been getting. As many on here have said, this is a big recruiting year for Jimmy and the program. I, for one, hope that he gets it done, more for the program (and my sanity) than for the coach himself. But I am behind him. (I really do wish, though, that he would/could tone down the in-your-face stuff with the players and coaches. In what other work environment could anyone behave like that and not be disciplined, fined or fired? But maybe he can't change. That is probably just the way he is, for better or worse.)

Well it really is up to Brett. I would respect whatever decision he and his family makes. I'm sure he is a competitive kid and if he is physically ready and able to play he'll want to. Looking at it from Siena's perspective I bring him back if he wants to play and is ready by Feb. 10 (later than this it doesn't make much sense). Why bring him back? Well no guarantee if he will even come back for the 2016-17 season first off. Also, while it is a long-shot, you never know if Siena can sneak into the top 5 they could make a run at the MAAC championship. Going to Dayton or not it would be a great storyline to send Poole and Hymes out on after the trials and tribulations that they've faced in their four years at Siena. Why not give them every chance? Again it's a long shot but it was a long shot Siena winning the CBI last year too when we were 7-12 last January - with the same group of players. Same situation against similar competitive at home (Iona is probably better than any CBI team we faced last year but that's about it). Two games make a HUGE difference. Had we protected our home court against two sub .500 teams (Fairfield and St. Peter's) two of the past three Sundays we are (10-9, 7-3) instead of (8-11, 5-5) might not sound like a big difference but it really is. People are probably kissing Jimmy's butt if we have an overall winning record with all the adversity we've faced with two more wins. Atlas we did not get the job done in those two games. That to me is the biggest disappointment of this season - being 4-6 at home.
