Glad they are staying positive but to be a contender you have to be able to beat the top 5 teams. So far Siena is 0-3.

We are in a good position despite the injuries and just need to turn it on from here and finish strong.

From what I've seen so far 10-10 is what I see. Of course, of the teams in the top 5 now, Siena has 7 games left. After this weekend, 7 of their remaining 10 games will be against teams currently in the top 5 of the maac.

This is just the AD trying to bring hope to the fans to sell tickets.
This is a lost year!.
Next year will also be weak if JP doesn't recruit some studs.
If Siena has 6 straight regular losing seasons, the the fans will start running for the exits.
In 6 years this administration took a team that got everyday press as an up and comer to "who cares".
WE need a new AD and people on the Board and in the administration to take advantage of Siena's advantages.
I don't care what anybody says , these Franciscans are not even close to the Founding Fanciscans and their vision for the College. The Board has to recognize this, and soon.

I tend to agree S70. We were so close to making a huge jump and they trashed it. I'm one of those long time season tix holders giving serious debate to not renewing. Call me a fair-weather fan but I've stuck through Beyer, Lanier and Mitch. We are paying a TON for sub-par basketball. I'm starting to feel taken advantage of. Hopefully Jimmy turns this around but, like you, I think this year is shot and I'm not seeing reason for optimism next year. Losing Rob and Evan will be tough to rebound from. This is a guard's league and we're not really covered in that area. We should be stocked in the front court but that won't make up for no back court. Even if we somehow win the MAAC tourney, is the PIG really the goal? Does that make up for -35 v Canisius? Not to me.

Winning the tournament and dancing would not make up for losing to Canisius with 4 starters out including our senior leading scorer. #ToughCrowd

Winning the tournament and dancing would not make up for losing to Canisius with 4 starters out including our senior leading scorer. #ToughCrowd while I agree that making the NCAA tournament is an achievement and would make up for a lot... Most of us are not about floundering regular seasons with a lucky run or two through the conference tournament to then be lead to slaughter in the first round of the tournament. The odds of Siena pulling something like this off are slim at best. Making the tournament is an achievement ... but looking like you actually belong there is an entirely different animal. I agree with the posters that say that if a cyclical run from time to time out of the maac is enough and the program remains as it has been for the recent past with more failures than successes.... I believe the program should be re-evaluated as the ticket prices do not warrant the schedule/results. this being said... I think it is still a bit premature to be cutting bait just yet. Patsos know what is at stake and has been in the MAAC to know what is necessary to be competitive. Lets see what transpires over the next few months, in particular on the recruiting trail.

TEAM CONF Iona 7-2 Monmouth 6-2 Canisius 6-3 Rider 6-3 Manhattan 5-3 Siena 4-4 Quinnipiac 4-5 Fairfield 4-5 Saint Peter's 3-6 Niagara 2-6 Marist 0-8
To put this weekend in perspective, Siena's at the moment firmly in the middle of the table. There's going to be volatility in the standings because the following teams directly above/below Siena play one another in the next few days:
Manhattan @ Quinnipiac Canisius @ Rider Monmouth @ Manhattan
If Siena can hold home court as they should against weaker MAAC teams this weekend, they will position themselves nicely for a tougher upcoming run in February.
Tough time to draw Marist, with Khalid Hart back and Poole a game-time decision.

Marist should be a pushover as Siena is 9 1/2 pt fav, With the injuries and inexperience of some of the available players nothing is a pushover. Everyone has to compete and contribute.

Win the next two and then we can start to talk about being contenders. 5-5 with two easy opponents done and two hard opponents yet to play isn't going to get it done.
