How many threads do we need about the same thing?
What is even the issue with continuing the series as is, does UA want more tickets? Considering the TUC doesn't sell out I don't see why that's a problem

To answer Tony's earlier question, I agree it is not a “true road game” for UA, in the sense that travel is minimal, band and cheerleaders are there, UA gets ticket allotment ….but it’s close. Bottom line is UA has earned the right for a home game, by which I mean a game on your home court where most of the fans support your team. Maybe a 2 for 1 deal is the way to do it for the short term. 2015-TUC, 2016-SEFCU, 2017 TUC. If the concern is Siena losing at SEFCU,2016 should be a big year for Siena, with Wright Long as seniors, and a down year for UA (Hooley and Singletary gone). UA can set aside 500-700 tickets for Siena to placate some of the Saints Alive/premium donor crowd for the indignity of Siena having to play a road game at SEFCU. Really not the end of the world for Siena. A winnable road game nearby which their big donors can go to if they like. Otherwise watch at home, at Stout, some other comfortable place.
If the standard is whether Siena fans are “pissed off” because they can’t go to a road game every other year, no reasonable compromise will work. Why do you think Providence agrees to play at URI every other year when 5000 of their fans get “shut out/pissed off” when the game is at URI? PC doesn’t need that game to raise its profile. Like Siena, PC already owns the regional media market, has a bigger fan base than the State U. rival, deeper emotional roots in that community. The answer is because the local rivalry game is fun, and PC gets a big attendance kicker every other year (about 4000 above their average attendance) without any money changing hands between the two schools. Same principals should apply here.

Just do a two for one deal and find another "quality" home opponent. I know I am not a STH but honestly guys grow up and share. Cut the it's our ball and we will go home if we don't play by our rules bs. It is arrogant and tiresome!

Considering the TUC doesn't sell out I don't see why that's a problem Yes Albany wants more tickets, in the good seats. The seats at center court and not seats behind the baskets. It also has to do with the revenue Siena generates from the game having Albany play in it. All we know is that Albany gets $18K. That's based on what Pastos says, but does anyone know what Siena makes off this game every year? Everyone states that Siena barely makes anything off the game, but how come that number isn't coming out?

It has nothing to do with growing up. If you understood business maybe you could voice a reasonable opinion, but that would require YOU to grow up.

Perfect, now we can play in the ball room at the schenectady casino just like the battle for atlantis.

Shooting on your own rims. Playing in your own arena. Knowing the depth perception of the hoop. Yup that's definitely not a home court advantage. Siena doesn't owe Albany anything and vice versa. If they can't agree on a new contract so be it. You can now fill that game with another team that will draw 10k+ every year for you. And you can now find a guarantee game that pays $20k and doesn't require you to pay for travel expenses and a hotel.

Listen guys we are beating this to death-- let the AD's figure it out, as we can see here, there are no easy answers-- I can see UA's point-- and I can see D'arg's point about freezing out people that want to see the game. If both sides are reasonable, there will be a compromise - if one side if not reasonable the series is over for time being.

I agree. I see both sides as well. I only started commenting on the topic because I don't get how people don't see both sides of it. Like I read somewhere else on this board, it's really a business. Albany would not be doing it's due diligence if they didn't try and get more from the game. You need to strike when you are hot and it just so happens the current contract couldn't have expired at a better time. Just like the talk of the A10 and Siena 3-4 years ago.

Suggestion can we just lock these threads for now we're beating a dead horse. Let mgmt talk and then we can reopen the debate. just an idea.

Lets cut to the chase. Brown purposely moved the game when the students were on break in order to hurt attendance. The tournament was a bogus excuse. One of the games when the students were around drew close to 12,000 of which I'm sure they get a cut off of. That's close to 2,000 they threw down the drain. A nice little financial cut.
