Personally I think the game has run its course- UA already gets 4K in tickets, makes more money off this game than any local game they play. They get more publicity than any local game they play- if that isn't enough let them go back into obscurity playing at sefcu in front of 1200 fans. Tired of UA bitching, Brown playing games with the game date etc just let the game go on hiatus. Was good to hear Darg say the game wouldn't be played at Sefcu www.timesunion.com/sports/article/Contract-up-for-Siena-UAlbany-5949405.php

City of Albany would be the big loser . . . I'm sure the fans generate a lot of dollars before and after the game

City of Albany would be the big loser . . . I'm sure the fans generate a lot of dollars before and after the game No question city of Albany would be loser. I also think the UA AD and Brown will take a lot of heat if they walk away -- right now you have Brown and a couple hundred over the top whack Albany fans complain about the game. But the fact remains this is by far the biggest attended regular season game UA plays. Those 2,000 or so UA fans that see one game a year ( the Siena game) are not going to be happy with UA's AD and or Brown for walking away-- but hey that's their problem to deal with If by some chance the game does move forward-- dates have to be locked in with heavy penalties to prevent Brown from pulling the shenanigans he did this year with his phantom tournament

Any validity to that? If so that's 300 tickets to many..LOL I was under impression UA get several thousand to sell .. the 400 is probably the "premium" seats that some Siena fans get moved for And BTW over the years I've been a big supporter of this game- but really soured on it with all the whining from UA fans and Browns make believe tournament that UA was never entered in..

I soured on this game a long time ago. You could see this coming. UAlbany is going to push and push and push until it will become unpalatable for all Saints fans Just walk away, and you'll see how badly UAlbany really wants to play this game.

This game will be a neutral game and not part of your season ticket package or it will be put on pause. The current terms are not acceptable.
We'll be fine and you can bring in UCLA to sell 12k+ seats. We'll go in the road to Duke for $90k.

For some reason you UA guys thinks Siena makes a windfall off this game- we move 400 fans out of their seats and give UA like 3000 tickets to sell.. so in reality Siena only needs to schedule a game where we get between 6k and 7K.. have to love UA fans complain the UA dance and cheer teams had to pay to get in..LOL..of course like most info the UA fans have its totally false I can’t wait for UA to walk away from this game, and watch Benson and Brown take the heat from UA alumni that attends 1 game a year ( the Siena game) the city of Albany won’t be happy. . UA makes more revenue off this game than any other regular season home game, good luck to Benson when he goes hat in hand looking for more money from politicians. Just end the series already, it’s ran it course. UA is not negotiating from a position of strength and I think it’s time the UA fans see that. And if not C'est la vie

That's what scares you, with every UA win you lose clout in this argument and negotiation.
Knowing you over the years, you wouldn't for a second allow for this to continue if the shoe was on the other foot. You also downlplay what you make in the game. Recently naming rights to the Albany cup were sold... How much of that revenue did UA get? And you think that's fair?
Cancel it... UA alumni and fans will understand, just explain all these things and Siena will look the greedy bastard that they are.

In the meantime... You can go find someone else to bring in 12k fans... Deal?
We'll see you in 3 years asking for the game to return but this time on even terms.
15 years or whatever is a good run... Let it breath a few years.

BTW, you didn't answer how you'd feel about this series if your crosstown rival was banking 9k ticket sales, advertising revenue etc.

All other arena teams, that I'maware of would only hold 200-500 seats available for opposing teams, probably closer to 200 for teams that sell out every games. I've been for cancelling this in order to schedule a team from a better conference (even if it's only a crappy a-10, CAA, MAC etc. Team).
