Guess what... your never going to see a change happen mid-season !! Unless the boosters are calling for it !!! Siena is not the type of school that would do that !!!! End of story !!! They said that about Notre Dame too. A school with a slightly higher profile than Siena. They said every football coach is given 5 years. The school has never deviated from that and wouldn't fire a coach before his 5 year contract ran out. Tell that to Tyrone Willingham.

best option 12/9 Mitch steps down 12/10 Carter or Anderson are Interim ***two weeks to insert new system 12/23 road game that is essentially a scrimmage against a poor Fordham team. Nice first test of new system ***Six day break to implement any tweaks etc of the new system 12/29 home scrimmage, if you will, against a tougher Lasalle team ***five days to implement further tweaks 1/4 begins full blown MAAC play and essentially a truly new season, against Iona in my opinion the calendar and schedule are affording Siena a chance to turn THIS season around Agreed +11

Long time reader but I have never posted. I attended my first Siena game at the Washington Ave Armory in the early 60’s with my father. I loved it. That was the reason why I went to Siena. I am green and gold always will be. Go to the quad and sing at the top of your lungs----Put on your old green bonnet with the yellow ribbons on it and we'll drink six friars to the grave though we ani t got knowledge we're a damn good college----S I E N A My most memorable game was the night in March of 1994 when Doremus Bennerman dropped 51 on K State at Madison Square Garden. Siena basketball was stardust, we we’re golden. Siena basketball is more than wins and loss. It’s about a proud tradition of a small Franciscan college that has loyal fans who embrace their basketball team Support Siena Basketball but more importantly support the players because they deserve it. Let's get through the season and then let the administration determine the fate of the coach.

What are u talking about ??![/quote] If Siena doesn't make a change now, it is because they believe it is in the best interest of Siena basketball to wait (either they think the season will turn around or for cost efficiency). Doing the "right thing" may be their public mantra but this decision is mostly about cost.

You guys are jumping the gun. If Mitch wins tonight and Sunday he would be 4-7 and 2-0 in the MAAC- do you really think Siena would "ditch Mitch" - no way we would be stuck for the year with Mitch. However if he loses tonight that would make him 0-4 at home 2 and 8 on the year and if Siena decides its time to act they would have clear reason. In my mind tonight's game is the most important one for Mitch in his tenure at Siena. In the long term it doesn't much matter as barring a miraculous turnaround Mitch is toast after this year anyway. But I dont think Siena would make a change lightly - in fact I'm doubtful it will happen.

according to the line Siena-Rider game is a 'pick-em' meaning we are a 3pt underdog. no guarantees.

But the beauty of college basketball is you never know what can happen. I agree a win tonight and he will probably make it into 2013. I'll be at the game tonight hoping for a win, but at this point the team would have to finish 13-7 just to have a shot at a winning record. BTW, I have people coming up to me who are just casual observers asking if a mid season change will be made. First time that's ever happened for me.

Hows Mitch's relationship with the players ? Any rift ? Because I do remember Lanier has some major issues with his players !

Product on the field was getting bad AND he didn't recruit at all..... if he had shown any hustle he may have gotten another chance, but when the house of cards is falling down and you are doing nothing to stablize it, well, you get what happened to Ty.... also, take a look at what he did at UW as well.... change was not unwarranted there... and it isn't here either.
