The break really came at the right time. If we played UA tonight who knows how the game goes. It won't be easy on 12/13 but hopefully with more time to get healthy/address some things we will be ready to go. I'm glad to see we're looking at going with more zone defense - this team seems to do well with it. If we continue to score (hopefully shoot it better) and improve the defense we will win a lot of games.
The schedule coming up isn't loaded with "sexy" names but some very good teams which will be tough. I'll be happy with 7-4 on New Year's day - ecstatic if we're better than that.
11/29: @ Loyola 12/1: @ Fordham 12/5: vs. Quinnipiac 12/7: @ Rider 12/13: vs. UAlbany 12/19: @ Radford 12/23: vs. Cornell 12/28: vs. Bucknell

Shorten the rotation and play zone. Two lessons learned in this "mini season".
In regards to the rotation, Hymes should never play and White/Cole depends on the matchup.

Agree move on from Hymes, he has moments but not enough. Cole should be in the rotation, he needs to find his rhythm or at least more the 2 games to come back from a year off. White tough kid, has some strengths but not sure what role he fills. I heard he improved that jump shot, I would like to see it. Because his toughness is sonething we lack.

Tony claimed in practice White was one of the most improved players, obviously that remains to be seen. Cole and White both struggle with the jump shot. Jimmy as the head coach needs to ride the "hot hand" and never play Hymes.

I think you’ll see the top 7—I like idea of starting WB and bringing JO off bench. So starting 5 plus JO and Oliver—next will be whoever is matching up well or is playing particularly well between White, Cole and Hymes. Unless one of them steps up and starts playing consistently well. I wouldn’t give up on Cole, he has a nice upside, White has grown an inch or two got bigger and stronger and is playing under control, he is also one of our better defenders. Shame he went down to start season, but this break should help him. The one it should hopefully really help is Brett, his numbers are down considerably across the board and I have to believe he wasn’t 100%, Brett was pretty consistent last year scoring double figures and grabbing 7 or so boards a game once he entered the starting lineup. Last year Brett shot 52% from floor, 11.5 ppg, and 6.6 boards, it’s a small sample but thru 3 games he is shooting 37% from floor, 3.7 boards and 7.3 ppg
The 10 days will allow team to adjust to life without Silas, and shore up defense and rebounding So far this year we are scoring 78.7 ppg , Loyola will be a good test of the new and improved offense as Greyhounds like to slow it down , winning a game vs UMBC by the barn burning score of 45-38 and yesterday they lost to Butler 80-39
The ironic thing is Will Brown wanted to delay the Siena /UA team to give his new comers a chance to jell, and the extra time will probably end up helping Siena more than UA

Some of you guys forget that Evan was the only vocal leader on the floor trying to motivate/wake up the rest of during the Vermont debacle.

For a variety of reasons I hope that JP and all of you will give JO, Bisbing, WB, White & Cole a little time before pigeon holing them....

I love Evan and his heart, unfortunately at times I hated him just as much. He could be a great motivator, not a leader. I agree with SF's assessment, you need a player that is sound fundamentally, not just vocal.

I give up...just be sure to apply the scorn and criticism across the board evenly guys. In the second game of the season the 'boys of B'more' came out comatose for some super secret reason that can't be shared on a chat board where we read about a cyst on Poole's ass, yet it seems as though everyone wants to grill Evan.

While I agree with you about the 2nd game, Hymes is in his 4th year here, everyone knows he's not a leader, and he has been grilled for 4 years for the exact same things. His game has never matured, nor has his attitude.

And it’s not all bad at all for Evan- some games he “has it” and in those games I expect him to play and play a lot – its just after 4 years we have a good feel for Evan’s game- some games he doesn’t have it--- or has a bad match up defensively
