I saw him at the TU. Good player but I question his quickness for Siena's level. You saw him once as a sophomore and want to write him off? I'm glad you aren't running the program. Mitch would love to sign him but considering we are at a quickness disadvantage at 4 of the 5 positions on the court, please move on.

Someone who is a better judge of talent than I told me that Andrew projects as a definite D1 player. And I am not Andrew's father. Thank you. I mentioned Siena should LOOK at a high school junior who already has 2 D1 offers and I'm told I must be his dad? Way to lure those local kids, folks!

Nothing against the Gland kid but I would really like to see us up out recruiting .....

That's more D1 coaches offering him than have offered Dyaire Holt or than offered Kenny Wormley, but you have a problem with someone saying Siena should LOOK at him?

But I for one want to see us up our recruiting. I'm not exactly crazy about Wormly either ... And where did I say we shouldn't look?

If you aren't against looking, your comment really doesn't make sense. And you edited your post after I responded. I would like to see us up our recruiting as well, but getting involved with local kids costs nothing from the recruiting budget and there is always a chance that a kid who is just starting his junior year could blow up.

Makes perfect sense. I'd like to see us recruit on an A10 level and based on Yale and FF this kid doesn't fit the bill at least not yet ....

I like Andrew but the only kid I'd be recruiting in this area right now is the Mack kid from CCHS. He'd be a great get, but probably will go higher.

Well, once again, let's all be glad you aren't running the program. Jimmy already offered Holt and Huerter, half the country is recruiting Wright, Platek has 2 offers before his junior year, but you would only recruit Mack. Brilliant.

Once Wormley committed, Holt was off the chart. You never hear publicly about schools pulling their scholarship offers (see: Wincowski). I don't think we recruit another true PG until Wrights senior season....unless Holt re-classifies, don't expect Siena to keep recruiting him. No need for 3 PGs on the roster
This is Mack's last year in our area, so yes, I'd actively recruit him this year, and I think he s considerably better than Placek.
Heurters recruitment is a tricky situation given the fathers relationship, past and current, with the school. I have series concerns about his athleticism and strength being good enough for Jimmy's taste. He can def shoot it, knows the game and has great size. I think Kevin is 3 years away from playing college basketball, so this offer is a feeler type and let's see where his body goes in the next year or so.
Wrights another '17 kid right? Hasn't played a varsity game yet right? You've got him as a high major, so I'm sure Siena will be around him, even though the chances of getting him seem very unlikely. (I don't watch JV games, so I haven't seen him yet).
" Local kids" is a nice wish, but not a priority for Jimmy I believe. I'm sure they re aware of the few kids that may be able to help them, but expect Jimmy and his staff to stay where they know, in Baltimore.

Actually, Jimmy has said he wants to keep locals, thus keeping Ogunyemi and the offers to Wincowski, Holt, and Huerter. But I guess I must be all their father's too? I'm not sure where you think Anthony Mack is going. He isn't leaving Catholic Central as long as his father is the coach.

Was he going to say, "this area isn't even close to the talent level of Baltimore, so don't expect me to recruit here!"? He got the job late, and wanted to keep a 6'8" 240 signee, is that a surprise? His two early signees for next year support my argument, not yours. He nearly made a huge mistake with JW and got lucky. Holt is good, but there's no way he has the option to come here right now. Heurter is, like I said earlier, is 3 years away and his Dad interacts with Jimmy all the time obviously. Special case. Didn't Nails have like 45 against Placek? Why didn't we offer him? Outside shooting is a real need for Siena next year too.

I'm sure they re aware of the few kids that may be able to help them, but expect Jimmy and his staff to stay where they know, in Baltimore. HJ brings ups some valid points here................and I for one want to always recruit the locals IF they are capable and IF they fit the needs of the roster at the time unless the luxury of adding extra to the roster is available..............something else should be pointed out, perhaps with the exception of Wolfe (and that is only because he was more of a frontcourt player where not to many finished products of those slip down to the MAAC), any recruit that Jimmy has netted is "physically" ready to play D1 right from the time they step on campus............many of the locals that lucabrasi mentions are all terrific HS players, and all are very capable of playing at some level, but they do seem to lack the physicalness that would make them more impact recruits immediately.................those that Patsos has targeted mainly from the DMV are playing in much tougher leagues and have that physicality that can get them on the court faster...............you look at Paige, who might not get a lot of minutes this yr but he played on a nationally ranked HS team from VA, and was one of their top core players, just look at his make up, the combination of size/physical make up is a jump ahead of what some of the local talent currently has........................so am sure the staff does their homework, nobody in our own backyard will be over-looked, it may take the right fit and/or situation, but definitely rooting for all the kids to find their perfect fit!!!!!!!!!!!

In my own opinion I think Mack and Nails should of been the ones in the area we could be recruiting ... No offense but the other locals around here can't play at this level. Both nails and Mack are 6'5 both can shoot and both have a nice body type. Some kids are 6'4 and too skinny and not strong enough to play at this level. Any kid who is getting 30-40 points dropped on them shouldn't be in question. Mack is not going to go here and we already let nails go so
