what the heck are you talking about?.....................you are all over the map...................nobody said theses kids aren't good.................these are all very good HS players, come on, stop going crazy overboard for thinking right now they are D1 ready..............Siena's staff (and UA as well) are well aware of local kids and actively watch them, and if any feel they could help them in any way, then they will recruit them and perhaps offer them..........right now, you just need to go watch local kids play and enjoy it, cheer them on, that's it................but don't be thinking there is an unreal "impact" difference maker/player out there, chances are there is not!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who said anything about them being ,"right now D1 ready" or "impact players" It's you who is all over the board. You said they aren't D1, then you said they were " trying to become his players". You were wrong, you were called on it, now you're trying to pretend you didn't just post that. oh brother, you are thick.................you are pimping the local HS players...............staff knows about them, as do many posters here, which one is your son? ?

I'm "pimping" local players because I made a post with names of 5 sophomores worth watching? Is everyone who mentions a name here "pimping"? I discuss local high school players because it's the area I know. I played in the area, I have family in the area, I know many local coaches and parents of players. For the record, since a few of you are so concerned, I have no children.

Honestly, if siena doesn't get a local kid every couple years there is a problem. Plenty of talent that leaves the area every year.

I have to admit I don't watch or follow local HS BB games except for the end of yr championships.
I like what I read about Hameir Wright. Anyone know how he compares to other 2017 players Siena's looking at?
So far VC only lists JMU with medium interest in him. Had a very good game against CCHS (and Mack).
Sounds like maybe someone we'd want to keep an eye on???

Both
Most kids that could really help us want to go higher, so we don't get them. The decent ones that go low 1, usually come back looking for a D-2 opportunity.

I'm pretty sure the lefty PG from Troy played at Green Tech last year. Not sure where he ended up. Reid did go to a JC in Texas along with that real good guard from Watervliet. Neither were on the roster this year?? Isaiah Dobere is at Green Tech, a senior. Jerrell Reid is at a JUCO in NY, pretty sure Tyler McLeod is still in Texas. Isiah Dobere is now at National Prep Academy in Georgia. Can't tell if he is reclassifying, they list him as 26 years old, though, lol.

Looks like another Section 2 standout is moving to prep school and reclassifying It was quite the season for 6'4" guard Andrew Platek '16 as he led his Guilderland team to a Section 2 Class "AA" Championship Game appearance by averaging over 24 points per game, proving to be one of the best players in the Albany area, and a sought after recruit who will soon though be leaving the area.
M. Libert Andrew Platek Coming into this season there weren't a ton of expectation for what was considered a young and inexperienced Guilderland team, but because of Platek's success and ability to score in big bunches, they got to the Times Union Center and the Sectional Championship Game, an achievement that surprised even Platek himself.
"To be honest our success did surprise me," Platek admitted. "We were a young team and we needed to grow a lot throughout the season, which we did. No one projected us to get as far as we did so we played with a chip on our shoulders."
Platek had six games this season of 30+ points including a 41 point effort earlier this season against Shaker, while also knocking down 89 three balls on the season, one of the highest totals not just in Section 2, but in the country, but what makes those stats so impressive was he was a wanted man by every team he faced.
Going against double teams, box and ones, and sometimes even triple teams, Platek was the object of every team's defensive focus. He was asked to do so much offensively for his team, but to do it while being the focal point of the opposition in every game makes what he was able to accomplish even more impressive, and it was a challenge that Platek himself says he embraced.
"I feel like if defenses focus all their energy on you that you have to take that as a compliment and be humbled that they hold you in such high regard," Platek said. "I embraced that challenge every day."
It was a challenge that Platek thrived against and brought him a number of college suitors, with a number of school already deciding to offer the sharpshooting off guard.
Yale, Albany, and Fairfield are the three offers that Platek says he holds as of right now, though the guard added that Davidson, Harvard, and Bucknell are among the schools that have been strongly been following his game and progress as of late.
They will get to see him more this summer as he plays with Albany City Rocks on the Nike EYBL circuit, but if they want to see him play high school basketball next season, they will have to head to Massachusetts to check him out.
Platek has decided to transfer after this season to Northfield Mount Hermon where he will also be reclassifying into the Class of 2017, and it was a decision that Platek says he knew was best for his development as a basketball player, and his recruitment as well.
"I feel like going to Prep School will offer more opportunities and ways to get better along with playing with and against some of the best competition in the country," Platek said about his move.
He said that he was happy with his progress playing on the ball and attacking the basket off the dribble this season, but he is excited to get even better over the coming months and while he will miss playing with his friends at Guilderland, he knows that the future is extremely bright for him as he continues to just get better and better.
"This should be a great summer and I am just looking forward to getting out there and showing that I can play and compete with the very best from anywhere."
