Would somebody please post as to whom interested fans should contact regarding bus trips to away games? I have a couple of people beside myself interested in attending the UMass game, as well as others on the schedule. Thanks for your help. Pete I PM'd you Frank's info for signing up for bus trips emailing list. Anyone else interested you can PM Misspractice or me. No sense providing email addresses on site if only a few are interested. PS . There's a pre-game reception sponsored by BBL (additional $15) in case you're interested in getting on the waiting list for the UMass game. I'm still hoping to get another 25-30 people to see if a 2nd bus could go. Read more: sienahoop.proboards.com/thread/1585/potpourri-ala-cornell?page=3#ixzz3Hejpxxyq

Via the A10 ForumApparently UMass has stressed the idea of pushing the ball up the court quickly on offense and press on defense! Other notes! Kellogg said he’s hoping to expand the team’s trademark P.A.I.N. (Pressure Agitate Interrupt Neutralize) approach to incorporate a bigger rotation of players. “I like to get off to a good start with the starting five, but I’m trying to determine how many waves can we come at you with,” he said. “That second wave can be even more important where we come at you with even more energy and more intensity so we can come at you with our 40 minutes of P.A.I.N.” UMass’ second five features some combination of Hinds, Tyler Bergantino, Demetrius Dyson, Donte Clark, C.J. Anderson and Zach Coleman. Other than Bergantino and Hinds, it’s an inexperienced group. Hinds, who started 59 games in two season at West Virginia, gives the unit a natural leader. “It’s been better for practice to have an experienced guard run that team against Trey and give them some stability,” Kellogg said. "On Thursday, Seth Berger will start along side veterans Cady Lalanne, Derrick Gordon, Esho and Davis. Hinds, a junior, admitted when he transferred from West Virginia he was hoping to be a starter, but wasn’t mad about his role " www.gazettenet.com/home/14126...an-impact-roleSome interesting quotes from some people on the board! "TBerg is the one who scares the shit out of me. If he has to log extended minutes that is our biggest weakness." "After Tyler Bergantino off the bench Umass has virtually no game time experience. That is the single largest question to be answered this season. Bergantino is strickly Lalanne's backup when they need him to lean on someone defensively in the paint. UMass didn't have any other true front court players in 2013-14 either. Sampson Carter couldn't score in the paint, defend in the paint, rebound or block shots as you'd expect a front court player to do. Putney could block some shots and compete on the defensive glass when motivated, but he was even less of a post defender than Carter. Esho was the closest thing to another front court player (he's more of a combo forward) and he'll be back. In short, I'm not too worried about the front court, I expect it at the very least to be respectable." "That is one thing about Kellogg that really bothers me. He never seems to be prepared in games like he hasn't prepared for playing St Bonaventure, SLU or whomever before hand so UMass is finding itself making adjustments being 10 points down into the 2nd half." "Chaz had good looks at 3pt shots often, especially off of screens, but he didn't take them, possibly for fear of getting blocked, or simply because he didn't have confidence in that shot, almost all of his 3's were off catch & shoot"

Really looking forward to this game. UMass should be a good measuring stick for this team.
This is only the second away game that I have gone to. Got tickets right across the hall from the bus gang.
Can't wait!! Go Saints!!

There are now only 10 days left until game time!! This equals the length of the break between the November 19 and 29th games. The season is upon us.

Jimmy on the radio today said he will play a lot of zone vs. UMass and "pack it in". I think this is the way to go. If UMass shoots great we'll tip our caps. But with their edge in athletic ability going zone seems like the right play and you live with the results. I do expect much more man to man defense against Vermont and in most games we play this season. Tale of the tape - Siena vs. UMass PG: Wright 6'0 So. Davis 6-0 Jr. SG: Poole 6'5 Sr. Gordon 6-3 RS Jr. SF: Long 6'7 So. Seth Berger 6-7 So. PF: Bisping 6'8 Jr. Esho 6-8 C: JO 6'8 So. Lalanne 6-10 Sr. Key reserves: Siena: Cole, Oliver, White, Hymes, Brandwijk UMass: Jabarie Hinds, Clyde Santee, Demetrius Dyson, Tyler Bergantino Seth Berger will get the start for UMass www.masslive.com/umassbasketball/index.ssf/2014/11/umass_basketball_5th_man_forwa.html

In for the game, my first road Siena game outside of the MAAC Tourney. Let's dominate the Mullin's Center!
