Papi I suggest you run over to Manhattan. Ask Masiello to bend over- so you can officially kiss his ass!!!! #Pathetic

Masiello is the coach most likely to move up because of his age and career record but that doesn't necessarily make him the BEST MAAC coach. You can make the case that he belongs in the discussion but so do Tom Moore, Cluess, John Dunne and of course Jimmy. Ironically those are the 5 main contenders for the MAAC championship. Have any of those guys been mentioned for a better paying job? Its who's on top not a contender. It will be interesting to see if Siena wins the maac this year if jimmy is mentioned for any bigger jobs. I think his resume would almost warrant it - breathes life into a moribund program in Loyal and then takes a program that was in tatters and returns it to the top of the league.

You can't reasonably ignore the role played by his connection to Pitino in securing that offer. I suppose you could look at it that way too. I give the guy credit for winning not based on his connections or if you like the guy or not.

I don't think anyone is really denying that he is a solid coach and one of the better ones in the MAAC. The best, well that is yet to be determined. For a while I thought Joe Mihalich was the best coach in the MAAC, he consistently had Niagara contending for the title. In order to call someone the "best" I feel they need to win it more then once but if we are simply basing it off offers received in the off-season then sure he did receive the "best" offer. How do you grade Jimmy or rank him among the MAAC coaches?

How do you grade Jimmy or rank him among the MAAC coaches? That's a good question. With the expectations this year, if Siena lives up to them his stock will definitely rise. Getting to the NCAA always helps, no matter what your age or connections are. I'd say he falls in the 3- 5 spot. 52% can't put him much higher.

I can settle on 3 or 4 I cant put him at 5 because he shows consistency and the ability to win with nothing, that obviously shows the mark of a good coach. You are correct in saying if he leads Siena to the NCAAs this season he is the top 1 or 2.

A good or great coach shouldn't only be defined by how many games their teams win but also how well they coach/teach their players about basketball and even life.
I'd rank John Dunn as a very good coach in the MAAC. Not the best but definitely very good. He doesn't have the resources to routinely compete (With wins) in MAAC but I think he's a very good coach.
