Patrick Cole is an X-Factor for Siena. Coppin State transfer has a tight handle and gets people baskets. Could be valuable scoring reserve. 0 replies 4 retweets 5 favorites Jon Rothstein @jonrothstein · 5h 5 hours ago
Early prediction on Siena starting five --- Marquis Wright, Rob Poole, Lavon Long, Brett Bisping, Javion Ogunyemi.... 0 replies 0 retweets 0 favorites Jon Rothstein @jonrothstein · 5h 5 hours ago
Marquis Wright has a chance to eventually become the best PG in the MAAC, but he needs to cut down his turnovers. Make the simple plays! 0 replies 0 retweets 0 favorites Jon Rothstein @jonrothstein · 5h 5 hours ago
Siena doesn't have any great players on its roster but does boast lots of good ones. Deep and experienced team. Role allocation? 0 replies 1 retweet 3 favorites Jon Rothstein @jonrothstein · 5h 5 hours ago
Siena's Brett Bisping reminds me of a mid-major version of former Pitt forward Levon Kendall. Had great finish to last season. All-MAAC? 0 replies 5 retweets 8 favorites Jon Rothstein @jonrothstein · 5h 5 hours ago
Siena returns everyone from last year but how does this group handle expectations? Still think Iona + Manhattan clearly ahead in MAAC race. 0 replies 4 retweets 5 favorites Jon Rothstein @jonrothstein · 5h 5 hours ago

Manhattan has the best coach ? What kind of shrooms have you been eating! ; Didn't he get a million dollar job? I didn't see any other coaches get offers from bigger programs. Like the guy or not he can coach. Pitino guys win.

How good was he 2 years ago when he went 14-18? Some people are prisoners of the moment-- 1 good year last does not make a coach the best in MAAC .. has to pass the test of time

First, what does he mean by great players? I guess it's true that Siena has no great players in the empirical sense, but that would be true of any MAAC team.
I agree that Iona and maybe Quinny have more offensive firepower in their starting lineups, but defensively, I'll take our guys coached by our coaches over anyone else in the MAAC.
It's good that many of us are tempering our expectations, but we should be buoyed by the fact that this team has already made a lot of progress through last season.
If they come out at UMass playing like they were last March, we should be looking good for the balance of the season. They will continue to get better this season as well.

Manhattan has the best coach. A lot of you guys are underestimating them. How good was he 2 years ago when health went 14-18? Some people are prisoners of the moment-- 1 good year last does not make a coach the best in MAAC .. has to pass the test of time He was the only guy to get a million dollar offer. Dont think they cared what his record was 2 years ago. If he's not then who is and who's next to get the big money job?

I agree that he's a good coach, but that offer has as much to do with his connections as it does with his results. I do not necessarily agree that he is the best coach in the MAAC, but it could certainly be argued. If he wins the MAAC this year, though, you will be proven correct.

Masiello is the coach most likely to move up because of his age and career record but that doesn't necessarily make him the BEST MAAC coach. You can make the case that he belongs in the discussion but so do Tom Moore, Cluess, John Dunne and of course Jimmy. Ironically those are the 5 main contenders for the MAAC championship.

Have any of those guys been mentioned for a better paying job? Its who's on top not a contender.

You can't reasonably ignore the role played by his connection to Pitino in securing that offer.
