Bisping didn’t play- not sure why heard someone say it was nothing serious Lavon Long- I’ll say it right now he will be ALL MAAC this year, just a bull down low Rob Poole- kid is shooting better than I have even seen him, saw him in 4 practices now and he isn’t missing Mo White- Mo is most improved player on team, he is shooting well and when driving under control Evan Hymes- really playing under control and shooting well Jimmy Paige- made a 3 and a nice move to hoop, just isn’t there yet, don’t see him playing much early in year WB- Played well defended well JO- was probably leading scorer on white team , still missed a few he should make, but solid Silas- played hard, had only one moving screen call but scored and played well Patrick Cole- another tough night for Patrick, didn’t shoot the ball well, defended well passed well and is tough Wright- ran team well a few nice moves to hoop and swished his one 3 point attempt Oliver - can’t shoot if not set- he played all right, not his best night Wolfe—kid made a great dunk over several players in traffic, makes you shake your head sometimes, wish he had more motor Team was pushing it and shooting quick, Only so much you can tell from scrimmage, but team is light years ahead of where it was last year at this time, like what I saw, this team is going to win a lot of games

Spoke to Brett - he is sick. No big thing. I saw things a little different with Ryan. Thought he played and shot well.
JO looked good. Liked the buzzer beater at the half.
I like Cole, but I think that 10th man thing that Jimmy said on the radio may be close to the truth.
I was impressed with both Paige and Brandwijk, who jumps like Wolfe!
Deep team. Very deep.

I still think the Cole is 10th man is Jimmy speak to keep Cole on his toes. If he is truly our 10th man then this will be one of if not THE deepest team in Siena basketball history! I think Cole is probably still getting back into game shape (he hasn't played in a real game in about 19 months). The great news is having depth should wear opposing teams down all year. Most teams in the MAAC lose a lot when they go past their 7th man we really do not have much of a drop-off at least on paper on the bench.

Thanks for the update gents. Cole being the 10th man sure is a head scratcher.

If you put a gun to my head right now- Wolfe- Gottfried and Paige – will not be playing much. And that’s not to say things won’t change, its not that Paige is bad, it’s just that he has Cole- White and Oliver ahead of him. For 6th man—Cole is by far the most versatile but he hasn’t been shooting ball well. Looks like Oliver and White are in a heated battle, Ryan better shooter, few mistakes, Mo is IMHO the most improved player on roster more athletic and versatile. As most of you know I’ve been no big Evan Hymes fan, but kid is playing well, really buying into his role this year and shooting the ball extremely confidently. I’ve seen 4 or 5 practices on plus side unlike last year where we had a different starting line up every other day, our starting 5 is pretty well set. But I’d be hard pressed to give you the order for 6th thru 10th man--- every practice it seems to be a different guy stepping up- but Oliver- White and Hymes stand out as best 3 so far. Cole has most potential to impact game, but has to put it all together. Getting close,we see how Jimmy sees it in a few weeks

I'm sure 6-11 will vary game to game based on opponent and who is making shots and not making turnovers

BTW I should say last night the green team --consisting of seniors Hymes-Poole-Silas ( also had White- WB -Long) handled the White team ( Wright- Paige- JO- Wolfe- Oliver- Cole) No official stats-- but if I had to guess Mo was leading scorer for green team-- and JO for White team. both teams had very balanced scoring, think only player that didn't score was Gottfried( dont remember him scoring anyway) was over his head most of the time on floor

You sure Gottfried is getting a scholarship next year? Seems a stretch from what I'm reading.

Saints need to up the efficiency on offense. If White is playing within himself, he should play over Cole. He's the better defender. He needs to do his thing and focus on midrange and in. He just needs to make those shots. Don't worry about threes. Go out there and get a 40% FG% just being a grinder/layup guy and he'll play.
It's starting to sound like the fears with regards to Cole haven't changed. He still can't shoot and he turns it over too much. For a team trying to improve on its 240th ranked offense...that kind of thing probably won't help much. If White has improved and Cole hasn't then that battle is almost over.
Hymes and Oliver are gonna play a lot again. The next question is will WB and Paige emerge and when? If Cole isn't going to step up we still have serious offensive weaknesses. Someone has to step up.
The starters need to have improved. We need Hymes and Oliver to shoot even better. And I think we need a frosh or 2 to make a significant impact. This has to happen if we have title aspirations.
It also has to happen if we want to stay out of the PIG next year. Not a lot of offensive help coming in next year either.

I agree with Kk here (as usual). I wasn't going to post this before, but Poole and bis ping need to build on their progress if Siena wants a title.
