Um..you might not realize this but we don't play the games.... We are kinda free to predict whatever we want. Yes so why pick a loss to Rider? We can win any game on the schedule but upsets can and do happen. I think we'll win a lot of games but even the best Siena teams have stubbed their toe especially on the road. But the key is to minimize those losses. This is still a young team who will be better in January/February/March then they will be in November/December. That's what Siena did under Fran and will do under Jimmy hopefully. Good coaches have their teams playing the best as the season goes on. Fran started 2-3 or 3-2 every year he was at Siena. That said, I certainly hope we go 38-0 and win the national title!

Yes so why pick a loss to Rider? I don't know cause it seems like one of the tougher road games maybe... A team with 3 or 4, 6-3+ guys who can play solid PG could maybe be a tough out at their place. Sorry for trying to be realistic. ok but I will stick with being overly optimistic...that works better for me...but go ahead and do you

I also think Quinny is the team to beat this year in the regular season. I give props to Cluess and acknowledge their big three. I expect the Saints to be competitive with both of them and we will see what happens when March comes. The Jaspers lost too much to be considered a serious threat, including the respect for their coach. If he can cut corners so can I. IMHO. I hope St. Pete's competes. They have a real hill to climb. Those of you who complain about administrative support at Siena should consider what Dunne deals with and say thank you.

Sent from my SPH-L710 using proboards I'm seriously thinking about downgrading the Saints to 3rd. I just need to hear some news out of Quinny first. I'm just afraid our offensive woes are not being fixed. I'd like to have more hope for an offensive boost. I'm sure the extra year of experience and knowing the system will help us but if it's all the same players, how much more can you really expect? We just don't have the depth of offensive talent that a couple of other teams have. We don't have a lot of room for error with this style.

The Saints will be even more effective on offense. Fg percentages will increase abd turnovers will decrease as will the fouls. We are one of the top MAAC teams with our returning players. We dont need our freshmen to carry us nor make much of an impact. Just support and contibutions. After watching the scrimmage this is where I think we are in terms of a depth chart. Disapointed that Bisping didnt play to see the entire picture
Starters 1.Wright 2.Poole 3.Long 4.Bisping 5.JO
First off the bench 6.Hymes 7.Oliver
Substitutions 8.WB 9.White 10.Cole
Bpttom 3 11.Silas 12.Paige 13.Wolfe

But how much more? Saints really eeked out 11-9 last year as it was. The defense will need to stay just as good or better. That puts a lot of pressure on. Saints FG% really left a lot to be desired last year. 7th in the MAAC in FG% and Points Per Shot. Even worse was they were 10th in Adjusted FG% last year. And there was a huge jump to be near those top 4. I think both Iona and Quinny could be over that 50% level. Iona was 57.4% last year..Siena 45.9%. That is a HUGE gap. espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/conferences/statistics/team/_/id/13/stat/field-goals/sort/shootingEfficiency/maac-conference

Have faith KK we will improve. I have already seen it in the workouts. Bisping wont be the only 50 percent fg shooter on the team anymore. Oliver is our 3pt guy and he will play more this season from the start. White looks more efficient taking good shots and playing under control. We dont need Wright to shoot much but he will finish better while taking and making higj percentage shots

That Poole had to deal with two and three guys draped all over him because he was the main scoring threat. It also doesn't take into account the addition of Cole (and only uses his stats at Coppin State). I agree Siena needs to shoot the ball better and score more points to win the league but only looking at stats from last year does not tell the entire story.

And we also thought Evan Hymes would make a soph jump too. That OD would learn to make a FT. Or that Silas would learn how to screen. There will likely be some improvements in certain areas but there could also be regressions in others. I don't just look at stats...I look at the video and see how they fit into the team as well. I just think you have to take a step back and try to look at the league thru normal colored lenses. As far as my 'baseball like stats'...a lot of coaches use sites like Kenpom as a tool for their scouting and determining their own lineups. That's all you need to know. Basketball is headed in that direction too. Efficiency is HUGE in basketball. Ignore it at your own peril.

You dont ignore stats KK but your predictions are dark while the optimistic fan sees progress and improvements. Like this The Siena Saints Dunk: youtu.be/hZZujowiEV0

Like this The Siena Saints Dunk: youtu.be/hZZujowiEV0All I saw was 6 dunks. 1 by White, 3 by Wolfe, and 2 by Brandwijk. We know those guys dunk. And 2 by Brandwijk who is a frosh...which brings me back to one of my original points. Need frosh to significantly contribute.

WB came from prep school. He lacks DI experience but is on the same level as far as his body and maturation as our sophmores abd thats why he wiill be a rare MAAC big to make an immediate impact. Wheras Paige is a HS grad and not ready yet.
And all of those dunks came in the scrimmage. This time last year that was not the case #PlayerDevelopment

His official role: Dunker. #PlayersDoingThingsTheyWereAlreadyGoodAt Show me film of Wolfe getting rebounds and blocking shots. #That'sPlayerDevelopment
