It is an interesting comparison as freshman... Long 26.4 mins, 9.4 pts, 4.9 rbs, 1.2 asts, 0.6 stls, 0.7 blks, 1.8 to, .425 fg%, .721 ft%, .375 3p% Franklin 22.4 mins, 8.3 pts, 4.9 rbs, 1.3 asts, 0.8 stls, 0.7 blks, 1.8 to, .674 fg%, 0 for 1 from 3 Only thing missing is free throw percentage . . . otherwise they look like Siamese twins. I will be thrilled if Lavon is a clone of Franklin

Honestly the more PPC has been posting to try to prove that they are different, it's looking like they are the same... Which leads me to the conclusion " the more things change, the more they stay the same".

This was junior year: I always liked the move at about the 3:20 mark. He did it often..not always a dunk but usually at least a layup. Sometimes the spin part of it was actually quicker than this.

He was the unsung hero on the team that was always good for steady scoring and steady rebounding who finally was rewarded with the MAAC POY his senior season. And by unsung I mean that Moore Hasbrouck and Ubiles got all the pub.

Most memorable non-MAAC/NCAA game that season was against Marist when Downey and Hasbrouck brought them back late (remembered that when I saw Downey making some nice plays in the recap video). www.sienasaints.com/sports/m-baskbl/recaps/011509aaa.html

It was horrible basketball. Marist soaked their hands in grease before that game.

this says it all...
"Yeah, pretty much. He was lovely."
kid was an absolute BEAST.
and thanks a lot KK... /sigh ... wow that team was so damn good.
lavon is going to have a different game and hopefully gets some talent upgrades around him key positions.
I really do hope this team gets up and down the floor more to create easy buckets. Watching some of the videos brings back just how easy that team made it look. That system really did create a lot of opportunities on both ends of the floor for the players. This current team can use a lot of that. The team is just considerably slower afoot ... or perhaps its just Patsos reigning them in with the lack of depth last year?

That highlight film was great-- That was some team—and goes to show you what athleticism can really do for you—allows you to beat a SEC team ( Vanderbilt) by 20 in NCAA tournament—press and beat Ohio State in Ohio

The best three year run in Siena history. I know some will debate that the 1988-1989 team that beat Stanford was better (before my time) but IMHO the 2008-2009 Siena team was the best ever. Had we not had to play against the #1 overall seed (which Siena still almost won) that is a sweet 16 or better team. Let's hope that someday soon we can see that level of domination again. Thus I would agree Jimmy needs to step up his recruiting and I think he is beginning to.

Aside from the very similar frosh year of Long vs. Franklin....I've also posted the soph year comparision of Bisping vs Rossiter before...that's pretty close too.

That was a game we had no business in loosing yet allowed Marist to lead by 12 with under 3 to go. Marist always treats the game against us as if it's their national championship game, probable since they lost to us for years. Sort of how I felt every time we play LaSalle (when they were in the MAAC).
