According to Amedio game is just about set for next year on Dec 12th. Persoanlly I hope game continues at TUC but if not I have no problem walking away from game. I guess the 25 UA fans screaming to the new AD didn't get through. I do get a kick out of the over zealous 25 UA fans complaining to Siena fans about the game. Why complain to Siena fans about a contract your AD willingly signs for obvious reasons. Tired of stating the obvious, the TUC is only venue big enough to support the crowd for game, its UA biggest home payday of the year, UA alumni travel back to Albany from all over country for game and its by far the most local publicity UA men's team gets for any regular season game they play. UA players play 10 minutes from their campus in front of 3000 UA fans, sleep in their own beds, no travel concerns etc-- any effort by UA fans to call this a true "road" game is pure nonsense and apparently the new Albany AD can see the benefits for UA far outweigh any perceived negatives by 25 or so over the top UA fans www.troyrecord.com/sports/20141018/on-the-record-siena-vs-ualbany-its-on-x2014-barely

100k to play at Syracuse? The Orange should have been on the schedule either way this season, regardless of what Siena did with Albany.

“We certainly wouldn’t win two of the three games. We’d probably wind up 0-3 against them. But, I’m an `event’ guy, and I want to bring our fans an event.”
I love the job Jimmy has done so far and glad he is our coach and hope he is for a long time but he has to realize he's not at Loyola anymore. Get rid of the "low-major" mentality. Is what he said probably true? Yes. But you don't say that - you just don't. It's a defeatist attitude that I don't want my head coach conveying to the team or fan-base.
As far as SU goes.. I agree with Steve they aren't likely to come here. I kinda wish the UA game fell through and we did play them at the dome. At least our SOS/RPI would have been boosted with $100K to boot.

I'd do a 4-for-1 with SU anytime as long as they stayed on the schedule. We're only getting better. Keep it rolling.
As for UA...at the TUC both teams can bring as many fans as they want. I don't believe anyone has been shut out yet. For the UA posters: if the game was held at SEFCU, would you guarantee 50% of the seats (and I don't care which 50%) would be available for Siena fans?
My bet is the answer is no. I'd be OK with the game at SEFCU if we are guaranteed half the seats.

Glen, I believe the SEFCU arena has a little more than 4500 seats. If Siena fans get half of them (2250+ seats) and currently siena has in excess of 4000 season ticket holders how do you propose the 2250+ Sefcu seats get distributed to the 4000+ Siena ticket holders?

It would be done based on booster level and seniority. Then the rest would be bought from ua students.

Bit so far can't argue with the results.

In our first year back (from PW), I believe we still had over 2000 season ticket holders so I would certainly think we are going to be over 2500 this year. That means that not even all of us would be able to go to the game. It's ridiculous on so many levels. 4500 fans get to see the game or 10,000+?

Sure - at 4500 seats in the SEFCU arena, people would be shut out. That's obvious. The game could still be televised. My point is that I'd be willing to do it at SEFCU if both sides had the same number of seats. The problem is that UA would probably only give Siena maybe 1000 tix thereby guaranteeing they get the home court advantage.
Numerically, UA *should* be able to fill the TUC all on their own. They generally have a good fan showing for the game but they certainly don't outnumber Siena fans. Since we don't guarantee ourselves a home court in our gym (OK, yes, our season tix holders are closer to the court but let's face it - we aren't talking the Cameron Crazies here) they shouldn't get it if we play in theirs.

More Albany fans see the Albany-Siena game than any other Albany game each year. And more Capital Region fans see the game than any other Siena game each year. It is such a no brainer for both and would be stupid for either side to back out.

A game that has historically drawn 10-13k should never be moved to a 4k arena. Makes zero sense!
