2Gs 1.Rob Poole Sr Siena PPG RPG APG 14.6 5.0 1.6 2.Zaid Hearst Sr Qpac PPG RPG APG 15.5 6.6 1.9 3.Khalid Hart So Marist PPG RPG APG 14.7 3.0 2.5 4.Jimmy Taylor So Rider PPG RPG APG 12.1 3.7 2.3 All of these players shoot 3's Is easy to see why these guys are the 2nd guards. Rob Poole is the leadind scorer for a contender and starts at the 2 ahhh Quinny is a contender- they finished higher than us last year, and are projected near top of MAAC this year Rob Poole is terrific and its close but I'd say Zaid Hearst is better, he certainly had better stats

And Siena is picked higher in the preseason by more than one poll including this one. Plus I am biased

The pre-season ALL MAAC team is actually pretty easy to figure out, coaches do same thing every year- just look at who made the post season ALL MAAC team and is coming back, for instance KK has Marist’s Lewis 3rd team, not likely since he the leading returning scorer in MAAC and finished 2nd team last year – returnee’s from last season 1st team A.J. English 2nd team David Laury (Iona), Chavaughn Lewis (Marist), Ousmane Drame (Quinnipiac) 3rd team Zaid Hearst (Quinnipiac) Marvin Dominique (Saint Peter’s), Rob Poole (Siena) so guarantee you that group is all 1st and 2nd team Preseason ALL MAAC KK has Lewis too low, Iona Williams too high ( he is 28th scorer in MAAC last season,) Bisping had better stats , Andujar averaged 8 points he isn’t making a pre season team – and keep something in mind preseason all maac means nothing – the post season ALL MAAC team I’m sure will look much different. It’s usually dominated by players from top 4 or 5 teams, with preference towards seniors – so obviously someone from Jaspers will make team if they finish top 4 or 5 1st team A.J. English David Laury Chavaughn Lewis Ousmane Drame Zaid Hearst 2nd team Rob Poole Marvin Dominique Desi Washington Khallid Hart D Jones 3rd team M. Gilbert B Bisping A Nicholas J Taylor I Williams I know I said as much. If I was doing it all real like I'd have Lewis 2nd team over Bisping. I don't like Chavaughn as a first teamer. He's not even the best guy on his own team anymore.

I do agree it will be tough for Lewis to finish season as 1st teamer-- but real good chance( almost a lock) he is pre season 1st team-- and he will 100% be ahead of Bisping and Iona's Williams to start season-- post season another story

How about an All-MAAC bench warming squad (best players with under 2MPG).

How about an All-MAAC bench warming squad (best players with under 2MPG). Do it ....the more info about the players in the league the better Will you humor me and post your top 4 for every position on this poll? Interested in your thoughts on this. Not All MAAC team because we all know that does not go by position. So in the spirit of this poll please give your 2 cents

Golden State sent a scout to check out Poole. He needs to be 1st team. Why is that?

Golden State sent a scout to check out Poole. He needs to be 1st team. Why is that? Because he is a Senior on a contender in the MAAC being coached by a colorful guy with connections that can shoot and plays D

Here is my stupid-ass list and criteria. Obviously, I'm totally biased towards Siena and non-scoring centers.
PG is a player who will run the offense and lead their team in assists. Marist's Hart need NOT apply for this position.
SG is the team's top outside shooter who is not classified as a forward or point guard. BTW, Iona's English would be my #1 SG, but he meets my criteria as a PG.
SF is where I put players that are hard to categorize.
PF are players who can rebound and score inside, but are not starting centers. Some of my PF's have very good outside games and could be classified as SFs but they rebound well enough to be consider PFs.
C are starting centers. In the MAAC, the 3rd and 4th best starting centers are typically the 75th and 90th best players in the MAAC, so you can pretty much pick anyone you want, which is exactly what I did. Laury is a PF, but he is the closest thing Iona has to a center and will always be the tallest player in their lineup. Drame is really the only true starting center who is a worthy All-MAAC selection.
PG 1 English Iona 2 Wright Siena 3 Wyche St. Peters 4 Sadler Rider SG 1 Hearst Quinny 2 Poole Siena 3 Washington St. Peters 4 Nicholas Monmouth SF 1 Lewis Marist 2 Long Siena 3 Williams Iona 4 Marcus Gilbert Fairfield PF 1 Dominique St. Peters 2 Bisping Siena 3 Andujar Manhattan 4 Jones Monmouth C 1 Drame Quinny 2 Laury Iona 3 Silas Siena 4 Ogunyemi Siena

In considering my stupid-ass list, I kept struggling to put a Manhattan player on this list. But, Manhattan is a team expected to finish top5. They really have nothing coming back. If they finish top 5 then their coach is really worth all the trouble and lack of a degree.

Yeah, that's definitely biased alright. You think that’s biased you aint seen nothing I was reading the most delusional MAAC team board and they were talking about how “deep” they are, maybe CLuess deepest team yet—I’m thinking to myself deep—no effing way let me check this,,so after big 3 they have Amayo who has scored all of 8 points his entire college career, Mohammed a 5’7” JuCo PG that hasn’t played a min of D1 ball, Bebis a greek freshmen, Casmir a 5’8” freshmen guard , Grant Ellis scored 10 points his entire career, Hines scored 48 points—one of their projected starters is a 6’4” power forward that couldn’t start for Longwoood?? And they call that team deep? Gals cant even put 5 experienced starters on the floor let alone reserves, The Iona board is good for a barrel of laughs.. you just can’t make this stuff up

Think Casimir will be pretty good though. Hines can shoot. Dublin will get putbacks. Amayo can attack. They have pieces but it's not the 'end all be all' they make it out to be. But that big three is solid and efficient. They'll win because of how well they shoot and take care of the ball. But I think they are more prone to upset than Guy would have us believe. The defense and rebounding is just not there.

Sidibe, Fairfield M. Gilbert, Fairfield Josiah Heath, Canisius J. Ogunyemi, Siena Not sure if listing Long twice was on purpose or not. If it was, I think there are some other players that are "tweeners" and would deserve double billing. I applaud the effort, lord knows I don't want to dive that deep into position rankings. I think it's pretty established that you don't think too highly of Lewis, and really like Ish Williams - while they're both good players, I'd personally have Lewis at the time of the SF position. Also, if you could somehow let Lawrence see that you ranked Valenti ahead of him, I'd like to see how he responds when Manhattan play Canisius this year.
